This is a contuination of my story Disbelief and Belief read that first cause it will be briefly referenced
Helen didn't know when it couldn't tell you when she noticed her oldest was growing up and hardly needed her(So she thought).Maybe it was when he turned twelve .
Now he was sitting at the kitchen table helping Susan with her math and Edmund with his history, while Lucy sat in the other chair colouring and chattering away.
Where had the little boy who used to run to her to kiss his hurts away gone?He was slowly slipping away becoming a teenager.
Helen sighed recalling the talk she had with him on his tenth birthday two years ago,had it been two years ago? He still came to her when he needed to he was growing up and soon he'd be off to university it was six years away of course, but still time had a way of speeding up.
One part him was still very much a child, that was the part Helen wanted to keep forever, the part of him that was still her little angel, even though that part was being pushed to the back in the trials and tribulations of becoming a teenager .
"Mama!" Lucy chirped, interrupting her musings,"Peter lost a tooth"
Helen went over to the table, sure enough Peter was holding a small bloody tooth in his palm.
"Is there a hole?I want to see" Edmund demanded
"That's absolutely gross" Susan grimaced as Peter opened his mouth there was a hole where his tooth used to be.
"You could put it under your pillow and the Tooth Fairy will give you money" Lucy suggested
"That was my last one" Peter closed his hand over the tooth .
"Nuh-uh,you've got a whole mouthful" Lucy said not understanding.
"He means last baby tooth it means he's growing up" Helen explained."He's going to get a adult tooth in the place of the baby tooth he lost"
"Does everyone loose their baby teeth" Lucy asked
"Yes,gradually" Helen nodded handing Peter a handkerchief .
"Are you gonna put it under your pillow "Lucy demanded
Peter looked at the tooth, then picked it up and walked over to the rubbish bin and dropped it in.
"I think I'm too old to believe in the Tooth Fairy and Father Christmas "
Lucy looked at him ;about to cry.
Peter went over to her and smiled sadly,"It's all right,Lulu it doesn't mean the Tooth Fairy and Father Christmas aren't real, hold onto that belief as long as you can"
Lucy smiled happily.
