A/N: So as you might have noticed, some things have changed in this story. I would like to thank Sparkles of Youthfulness for pointing out a couple things. So thank you for your advice/constructive criticism.

What I changed in this story was a lot and it was a headache to tell you the truth *sweat drops*. Because I had to fully change Joann into a new character. Originally this story was an 'insert reader' fic for another site. When I posted it here (back on June 14, 2005 oh god! I'm so old! haha), there were a lot of restrictions. One of which was the 'insert reader' genre. Another thing was you couldn't write curse words, period. So to get around that, you had to censor them. But also because it was an 'insert reader' fic, I made her too powerful. I had to because it was to please the reader. I mean what would you like to have if you were really in their world? You would be powerful, smart, brave, ect.

However, this isn't that story anymore. Joann had become a Mary Sue (Although if you really think about it, most main characters are like that haha but I digress). I had to actually try and write an original character that was believable, not just change (or rather try to) each 'you' to 'her' 'she' or 'Joann'; but to give her a personality. I had originally based her loosely, (and I use that term strongly) on myself. I put in some of my own skills and what powers I would like. I know how to fight and was a green belt with two stripes. I know how to fence from my high school. I have a sixth sense in the way of knowing something bad will happen (tho I tend to ignore my gut and get screwed *sweat drops* which is how I sprained my ankle *sigh*). I am great at giving massages and have actually helped people that way.

But I am not an aggressive person. I'm more shy. I am short and get aggravated at it. I look way younger than my age (which at my age makes me feel super happy haha), but when I was younger I got annoyed. I am brave but only if someone else is getting bullied. I have no spine when it comes to defending myself *sweat drops* but if you go after one of my own, as Yusuke would put it; then your ass is grass haha.

I know this note is pretty long, however I wanted to explain some of my reasonings and why I decided to change what I did. There are new scenes. Some scenes have been completely changed. More foreshadowing for her powers. Because some people couldn't understand her powers and how she got them. I was going to share that much later...like in the 40s as I do have this written up to chapter 56. I have for a long time. But I haven't had time (or rather felt like haha) going through all of them just to fix them up. But now that I looked through some of my old stories and noticed I have more people reading my stuff and favoriting me...well I have no excuse. I have to update my stuff.

I've improved in my writing and I need to put my best foot forward.

So with all of that out of the way, I thank Sparkles of Youthfulness and all the people who have reviewed and stuck around, reading this story. I appreciate every single one of you. I'm sorry for taking so long. I am trying to get better with that. I am working on rewriting chapter 4 right now (well I'll go back to it after reposting this chapter haha) and when I finish chapter 13, I will write a note in there to tell people to re-read this story and read this note...so hi from the future...or past? I don't know but welcome to those who are new and to those coming back to reread.

Without further ado, enjoy the new and hopefully improved A Dream Come True!

Ps. please feel free to give me some positive and even negative feedback. It will help me as a writer and help this story get better. *wide smile*

Chapter One: At the Beginning

A car drove away as a girl waved to it from the porch. It was a chilly rainy night in the middle of summer. The girl pulled back her black raincoat's hood to shake out her shoulder length golden-brownish hair. She dropped her umbrella next to the door on the outside porch before entering the two-story house. She took off her drenched work boots before un-zipping her coat to reveal her black work pants and navy blue apron. She draped the coat over the railing, which lead downstairs to the den. Her periwinkle eyes were glazed over with how tired she was, as she headed towards the kitchen.

She turned to the fridge, once she entered the kitchen, which was barely five feet from the front door. She found a note clipped to the door.

Hey Jo,

Your brother is sleeping over your dad's tonight. He won't be home until late tomorrow because of work. I had to get my haircut up at that place by your Aunt A's house. I'm sleeping over there tonight. I left you a plate from last night's dinner, you just need to heat it up when you get home. You can reach me on my cell if you need me.

Love you, Mom

Joann sighed as she removed the note from the fridge and tossed it in the trashcan. She went back to the refrigerator and opened it, taking out the plate her mother had made. She placed it down on the table with a yawn. She felt like she needed a shower before she could eat anything, otherwise she'd pass out right there.

Joann had just worked a ten-hour day. It was something that wasn't allowed, however, she did agree to stay a few extra hours if they needed her. She began to regret her decision however, Jo was sure she wouldn't once her paycheck came the next week.

Another sigh confirmed that she needed a shower to wake her up enough so she could eat dinner. Joann was starving since she had barely eaten anything since her break, which was about 5 hours ago. She could stay up late as she was off for the next two days. It was nice to have a Sunday and Monday off; she thought.

Joann dragged her feet as she climbed the stairs to the second level and into her room. She pulled out a set of light blue pajamas along with Scooby-Doo boxers; a gift from her younger brother.

She headed to the bathroom and grabbed a towel before closing the door and turning on the shower.

Joann Carson was your average 21-year-old girl; turning 22 in one month. She lived with her mother and younger brother who was only three years younger than herself. She had a different dad then him, so technically they were step-siblings. However, neither of them saw it that way. Joann worked at the local grocery store doing many different things. That night, she wasn't just a cashier but helped stock the shelves. She was taking a year off from college. She wasn't sure what she wanted to do however, Joann was sure it wasn't working at Shop Rite for the rest of her life.

The colleges in the area didn't have anything that she was interested in pursuing. She was a major 'geek' when it came to anime or even video games. However, Joann wanted to do something in the anime field and the only places that had courses for that were at colleges out of state and were too much money that she couldn't afford on the salary that she was making. Jo was determined to earn enough money no matter what she had to cut out. Although, anime wasn't in that budget cut.

Once Joann's shower was done, she walked out a little more refreshed and warmer. She dried her hair with a towel. Two cats rubbed against her legs as she walked back into her room. She pushed them out of her room before finishing her hair. Joann grabbed her Scooby-Doo blanket and a stuffed wolf animal which she named Koga; after her favorite character from Inuyasha. She wrapped the blanket around her as she headed back downstairs to the kitchen. She covered the dish with a paper towel before nuking it.

Joann poured herself a glass of Orange Juice as she turned on the TV. As the screen began to go from black to a picture, she could hear the rain outside come down even harder. She sat down with the blanket still wrapped around herself; hugging Koga close. She flipped through the channels until she stopped at Cartoon Network. There were a few commercials on. She got up and took out her dinner from the microwave, however as she placed it on the table; she heard something from the screen. She turned around, her eyes wide.

"Welcome back to the Yu Yu Hakusho weekend long marathon! Now back to the show."

Joann stood there staring as it looked to be in the middle of the second episode from the anime, Yu Yu Hakusho.

Joann was a huge fan of this anime. It had been a long time since she had seen it on; especially on a Saturday night and at this time; it was almost eleven o'clock. She threw the blanket on one of the chairs, while setting Koga on the same chair. She grabbed her dinner out of the microwave, ignoring the pain from the hot dish. She rushed down the stairs, almost tripping over one of the two cats; who just glared at her before walking away. She set her food on the round table in front of the long blue couch. She rushed back upstairs. She turned off the tv in the kitchen before grabbing her drink, some napkins, a fork, Koga, and her blanket. Once downstairs, she placed everything down before looking for the remote.

Clothes were scattered around the room, as if someone was living down there. She dug through a couple of the piles of clothes, but gave up. She would have to wait until he got home.

"Damn it Shane." she huffed in her alto voice.

Joann rushed to the tv and turned it on. It was a pretty big size. A 30 inch screen tv. Sure, it wasn't one of those new 'flat screen' tvs but it worked. Once it was on, she used the buttons on the tv to channel the channel to number Cartoon Network was on. Once that was done she let out a sigh and went back to the couch.(1)

She wrapped her blanket around her.

"I can't believe I almost missed this..." she mumbled while shoveling her food into her mouth.

At this time, a rumble from outside started. It wasn't so noticeable at first, however as the episode continued, it began to grow louder. Joann sighed, as she finished her dinner. The commercials were back on and the episode only had three minutes left before it was done. Joann's favorite episode was coming up next. It was the one where her favorite character from this anime was properly introduced. She sighed as another crash from outside drowned out the commercial.

"Why does it have to storm now..." she growled weakly.

Joann was still tired from the long day she had worked. She sighed again as the episode came back on and she found herself annoyed. She stood up, keeping her blanket wrapped around her as she clung to Koga. Her feet were cold, even while wearing long black socks, as she walked up to the tv. She stood in front of the tv for a moment before she reached her finger towards the volume button. The moment Joann's finger touched the button, a bright flash of light filled the room, followed by a huge crash.

Joann could feel her entire body tingle. It felt as if she had sat on her leg for too long; but all over her body. Her eyes closed as she felt like she was falling as well as being pulled down. Joann clung to Koga and pulled her blanket closer to her body as the feeling continued for what seemed like hours. However, as quickly as the sensation appeared, was how quick it seemed to stop. She stood with her eyes closed tightly for a few moments. Her feet felt like they were on another, rougher; feeling surface. Nothing like the cold hard wooden floor of her den.

Joann would have stayed where she was with her eyes closed, if a voice didn't catch her attention.

"Go".

It was a male voice, not too far from where she stood.

"But I don't even know you." said a female voice; at the same distance as the male's.

"We're now even for what happened yesterday, okay?"

Joann stood there with her eyes still closed. The voices sounded familiar. She slowly opened her eyes and blinked. Not too far from where she stood, Kazuma Kuwabara and his three friends stood. They were fighting a group of guys who seemed to be getting their asses handed to them by Kuwabara and his gang. Her eyes widened before she looked around.

"Shit!" she whispered, "I...I think...I think I'm in Yu Yu Hakusho!"

Joann stood stunned as she watched the scene in front of her. Her brain just didn't seem to understand or even register what was going on. Was she dreaming? She pinched her arm from underneath her blanket and felt the pain from it. She felt light headed at the feeling that this wasn't a dream.

"This is not a dream...holy mother..." she whispered again before feeling a chill go straight down her spine.

Joann shivered at the sensation and pulled the blanket even closer to her body. It felt like one of those chills when you can feel someone staring at you. However, it was a lot stronger than that feeling. She had always felt 'chills' back home, but nothing like how this felt. It was sort of like a 'sixth sense'. But it wasn't more than the normal, 'somebody's watching you' vibe or even the 'I got a bad feeling in my gut' kinda vibe.

'Okay Joann, you gotta figure out what in the seven hells is going on...okay walk through what you were doing...you were watching tv when...when a flash...' she furrowed her eyebrows in thought.

'Then I closed my eyes...it makes no sense...this is like some sort of fan fiction.' she thought.

Joann thought about it a bit more before realizing she was in the first part of the third episode. She didn't even realize that episode had even started. It was like she had fallen into a limbo like space between episodes and ended up in the next one! She thought harder before she also realized that the 'chill' must have been from Yusuke. Who was right behind her! She turned around, pulling the blanket closer to her. She didn't seen anyone there, but she knew someone was there. The presence seemed to back off a bit, which made the girl a little less stressed. She let out a sigh before turning back around.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~In the Air~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The fight continued as Kuwabara and his friends continued to kick the other boys' butt. It appeared that Kuwabara's group were winning the battle. Yusuke, who had been dead for at least a week, was watching the scene from above. He was not alone however, as a pretty girl who was considered death; hovered next to him. Under normal circumstances, Yusuke Urameshi would not cheer for Kuwabara. He was just some guy who would challenge him everyday like clock work. It was irritating, in Yusuke's opinion.
However, this was different. These guys were trying to mess with his best 'girl' friend, Keiko. Kuwabara and his friends were just taking care of those scums, since Yusuke couldn't.
"Yeah! That's it! Give it to 'em!" Yusuke cheered.
However something caught his eyes. He blinked and looked a little to the right of the fight. There was a girl, who didn't seem much older than himself. She was short standing at 4'11". She was wrapped in an odd blanket that had a cartoon character on it. Her golden brown hair was shoulder length and a bit of a mess; as if it was still drying. He tilted his head as he looked at the pretty yet weird girl.
"Oii Botan, who's that?" he asked looking at the ferry of death.
Botan looked at him for a moment before looking at the girl.
"I don't know, I don't remember seeing her there a moment ago."
Yusuke looked back at the girl.
"Yeah, that's what I mean. She wasn't there before..." he said, floating down to the girl.
The girl seemed to go stiff as he approached her. He leaned in close to her however, she turned around pulling the blanket closer to her. Yusuke jumped back in surprise.
"H-hey!"he shouted.
It had looked like the girl had looked straight at him before turning around.
"I-I thought you said no one can see me."
"Of course she can't!" Botan said, floating down next to him with a giggle.
"She can only sense you."
Yusuke gave the girl a thoughtful look before turning to look back at the fight; however, it seemed it had ended; Kuwabara and his gang the victors.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Back On the Ground~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Yeah! That's right! Run home to yer mommies!" shouted one of the guys from Kuwabara's gang.

Joann smiled. She had wondered who had won the fight. She figured Kuwabara had however, it wasn't clear in the anime. She shifted her blanket again since it was starting to slip a bit. It was at this point Kuwabara turned around to her. Joann blinked at him not sure what she should do or say. He seemed surprised to see a girl standing there; especially in her attire. He began to head in her direction. Joann looked around not sure what she should do.

She turned back to look at Kuwabara, who was even closer. He was almost towering over the poor girl. Joann knew that he was tall; however, it's not obvious unless the guy is standing right in front of you. He was totally a six-footer, if not taller. She had a small blush on her face as one of her favorite anime characters stood in front of her. What would he say? What would she say? And the most important thing on Joann's mind...was she really here dressed in her pjs?!

Joann's eyes widened at that realization. She slowly walked backwards away from him. She was feeling extremely embarrassed. Kuwabara noticed her fear. He didn't mean to scare her. He held up his hands; letting her know he wasn't going to hurt her.

"Hey, it's okay. I'm not gonna hurt you. Are you okay? Do you need help little girl?" he asked looking concerned.

Joann stopped moving. She had always looked younger than her age. She hated it with a passion. She especially hated it when people would say: 'you'll love it when you get to be my age.' Well, she wasn't their age! So she didn't like it! It was more aggravating than anything. She especially hated it when she would get carded every time she tried to buy alcohol! She didn't drink often, but it was still a pain in the ass. Besides that, she only looked 14 or 16! Wasn't that how old the rest of the guys were at this point of the show? She couldn't help but huff.

In doing so, she looked younger and cute, without trying to do it.

"Little girl? I'm older than you think buddy!" she said with a glare, which still looked cute. (2)

Kuwabara jumped at the girl's voice. It was a bit high pitched but it did sound deeper than a 9 or 10 year old. Which was how old he thought she was. At this time, the blanket began to lower a bit. He could tell she was wearing pjs under that big blanket. What he also could see was she was more 'developed' than originally believed. He blushed slightly.

She continued to glare up at him. She shifted Koga so he was pushed against her chest, before pulling her blanket tighter around her. She didn't realize that some of her cleavage had flashed the boys. Despite the looks from the other three boys. Kirishima was the worse out of the three.

Kuwabara cleared his throat.

"Let me start again. My name is Kuwabara Kazuma. The guys behind me are my friends; Okubo, Sawamura, and Kirishima." Kuwabara said, pointing to each of his friends by name.

The guys each gave their own little greeting. They thought she was a weird chick. But then again, this girl was standing outside, wrapped in a blanket and in her pjs! It was no wonder Kuwabara and the rest of them thought she was just a kid. Joann hesitated for a moment before nodding.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Carson Joann. Nice to meet you guys." she said with a small bow of her head.

"Do you live around here?" Sawamura asked.

Joann furrowed her eyebrows. She didn't know how to answer that question.

"Uhhh..." she started.

What was she suppose to say? That one minute she was watching them as an anime, then the next she was transported into their world? They'd ship her off to the funny farm faster than she could shout chimichangas!

Suddenly it hit her. She was really in an anime! She was in her favorite anime! She was talking to her favorite anime character! She was in her pajamas!

Joann suddenly felt dizzy. She wasn't sure if it was from the shock of her realization, the ten hour work day she had just worked, or both. All the poor girl knew was she felt herself about to pass out.

"Carson-san? You okay?" Kuwabara asked.

He could see it in her eyes. They had glazed over as she wobbled. He took a step closer just as her eyes rolled back into her head. He yelped before grabbing her and scooping her up into his arms. He looked down at the girl in his arms. Her head rolled to where it was nestled between his shoulder and collarbone. Her body was slightly turned towards his body, her blanket still wrapped around her. He could feel the stuffed animal being pinned between her body and his chest. If the animal wasn't there, Kuwabara was certain he would have been able to feel her chest. He could already tell they were a decent size. The thought made him blush.

Kirishima snickered as he elbowed his leader in the ribs.

"Looks like you have to take her home." Kirishima said with a wink.

Kuwabara looked at his friends with wide eyes.

"Yeah. I mean, it's not like we know where she lives until she wakes up. Besides, you're already carrying her." added Sawamura.

"My mom would be upset if I brought home an unconscious girl." Okubo commented.

Kuwabara stood there. He didn't even have a chance to say he couldn't take the girl home with him. It wasn't like he didn't want to help her. It was just bringing home an unconscious girl back to his house and in pajamas no less would lead to questions he couldn't answer. A soft noise came from the girl in his arms. He looked down and saw her sleeping peacefully in his arms.

Kuwabara sighed.

"Fine, I'll bring her back with me."

He started towards his house carrying the sleeping girl. He jumped when he felt her shift in his arms. She snuggled closer to his body and ended up putting her head against his neck. Her hot breath sent a tingling feeling through his body. It was like the 'tickle' feeling but this felt nice. Although, this caused him to blush all the way home.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Back In the Sky~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yusuke floated...stunned was an understatement of how he was feeling now. It baffled him how Kuwabara could get lucky enough to have a girl faint into his arms and snuggling up to him; not to mention have no other choice but to bring her back to his house.
Yusuke smiled at the thought of what would go on and started to laugh. An image of the girl waking up and screaming from seeing Kuwabara's face close to hers; caused him to chuckle.
Botan glared at him, having thought he was having perverted ideas. Her eye twitched, Yusuke's only warning before her oar was brought upside Yusuke's head.
"What was that for?!" he yelled and rubbed his head.
"Like you didn't know, pervert!" she flew off, dragging Yusuke along by his ear.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Scene Change~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Warmth surrounded her as consciousness took over her dream like state. Joann snuggled into the warmth for a moment, before realizing she was lying down, on a soft bed for that matter. Her eyes blinked several times before they were fully open. Joann shifted and looked up at the ceiling.

"It was just a dream." she thought with a sigh.

However, she blinked up at the ceiling, noticing something was different about the color. She took in a deep breath and found a smell of sweat and cinnamon; a smell that she didn't recognize from her bed. Her bed normally smelt like fruit; from her shampoo and soap.

Joann's arms were still around Koga as she sat up; her blanket falling into her lap. She looked around, eyes wide.

'This isn't my room. Though, it does look familiar...' she thought.

The color was white. Although it seemed more so from the light coming from the open window, which was more like a sliding glass door then anything else. The bed was positioned near the window, the curtains able to touch the end of the bed; the head of the bed facing the window. Posters of Megalica and other heavy punk rock bands; as well as some baseball posters surrounded the room.

Joann gasped.

'This is Kuwabara's room!' she thought, as she remembered seeing it from the first season; right after the Four Saint Beasts saga.

Joann sat there, in awe at how much Kuwabara's room looked a little different from in the show. The room seemed a bit bigger. She looked out the window, realizing she was on the second floor of the building. The sun looked to be either close to setting or about to rise. She wasn't sure which. A light tingle feeling in the back of her neck caused her to shiver.

"That feels familiar..." she thought aloud.

Realization snapped in her head.

'Oh wait, I know where I've felt this; it was back where I met Kuwabara...that's right! It must be Yusuke and I think that second one must be Botan!' she thought.

Joann had gotten excited for a moment before reality hit her again. She wasn't dreaming. She was really in the Yu Yu Hakusho world. She was even laying in Kuwabara's bed. Yusuke and Botan were looking at her from outside the carrot top's open window. Another thought came to her mind.

'How long have I been out? Obviously Yusuke is still dead, so not too far...' she thought.

Joann looked around the room one more time, still not believing what she was seeing.

'What the hell am I supposed to do...?' she thought.

Joann was so deep in thought that she didn't notice Kuwabara coming into the room. He was also deep in thought. He had so much to worry about. First he had to get permission for this girl to not only stay with him but stay in his room. He had to not fight for the rest of the week. And to top off all the stress, he had to get a score better than 50 on the test that was at the end of the week!

Kuwabara's spiritual awareness kicked in after he took a couple steps into his room. The first thing he noticed was two auras that were floating outside his room. He had an idea that one of them might have been Yusuke. He couldn't explain it but it just felt like the 'punk'. The other aura he could tell wasn't human but it wasn't a ghost either. It wasn't evil either. The other thing that caught his attention was Joann sitting up and looking deep in thought.

He froze. He didn't know what to say or do. He never really talked to a girl before. He didn't even have one in his room before! His sister obviously didn't count either!

"Hey, you're awake. How are you feeling?" Kuwabara said, causing the girl to jump and turn blinking eyes to him.

"Much better thanks." she said.

Joann felt more at ease. She seemed to have gotten over her shock and just accepted her situation. The only problem now was how to explain it to Kuwabara. She could see it in his brown eyes. He had questions and he wanted answers. He walked over to his desk and sat backwards in the chair. His arms were folded on top of the back of the chair, his head resting on his arms.

"So now that you're feeling better, can you tell where you came from?" he asked.

Joann got the sense there was an underlying meaning to his question. She shook her head, clearing it. She couldn't tell him the truth. She had watched too many movies and animes where that wasn't a good idea. It always lead to something bad happening. Sometimes destroying the show or movie's universe. She felt a headache coming on and rested her hand on her head.

Her eyes widened as an idea came to her mind.

"Uh...I can't seem to remember. I mean, I know my name and stuff like that. But I'm not sure about anything else..." she said before removing her hand.

She looked at Kuwabara. He seemed to be staring at her, as if studying her and her answer. She couldn't help but fidget under those brown eyes.

It was the truth. She really didn't know what happened. She didn't even know how she got there!

"Okay, so what's the last thing you do remember?" Kuwabara asked.

Kuwabara could tell she wasn't lying. But he could also tell she was holding something back.

Joann hesitated. Should she share some of what really happened? She really didn't like lying. Although, acting was a form of lying and she went to a performing arts high school; majoring in acting. But that was different. She let out a sigh before bringing her hand to her head again.

"Well, it's kinda weird..." she said, leaning back in the bed.

She rested her back against the wall behind her. She looked up at the ceiling, still trying to wrap her head around the whole thing.

"Last thing I remember, honestly, is watching tv. Then there was a flash of light and poof! I was standing in the middle of the street in my pjs."

Kuwabara sat in the chair giving her a look.

"Do you know anything else? Like where you live or anything?"

Joann hesitated. That was really the problem. She couldn't share that. She frown before shaking her head. She didn't know what to say.

Kuwabara continued to give her that look, making her feel uncomfortable. It was as if he was trying to read her mind. She didn't like the feeling. He nodded slowly before standing up. Joann watched with blinking eyes as Kuwabara left the room. She stared at the door for a moment. It wasn't long until the carrot top came back in with some clothes. A few jeans and t-shirts as well as another set of pjs.

"Here. These are my sis's. I know she won't mind you borrowin' 'em until we get you some cloths." He said before placing them on the end of the bed.

Joann looked at the clothes and then back up at him.

"Don't worry about a place to stay. I don't mind havin' a roomie for a while. You can stay here until you get yer memories back." Kuwabara said with a smile.

Joann looked up at him, blinking.

"Thanks."

Kuwabara smiled at her before turning and leaving the room, letting her know that she could change in his room.

Joann really didn't need to change...or she didn't think so. She figured she could at least been sleeping for one day. She pushed her lips together in thought before sniffing her self. She might need a shower...

She stood up and stretched, leaving her blanket on the bed. The bottom of her pj shirt moved up a bit, showing her slightly small tummy. She wasn't thin but she wasn't fat but she wasn't super skinny. She had an hourglass shape and short legs. She did have a waistline but she looked weird with how big her boobs were. They weren't 'anime' size huge. But they were a little disportionate to the rest of her little body.

She rolled her shoulders before picking up some jeans and a loose t-shirt. It seemed he even brought a few bras for her. Joann sweat dropped as she realized they were too small for her. The pants would fit her around the waist at least. However, her breasts were certainly going to not fit into Shizuru's bra. She let out a sigh before going out into the hallway, searching for the bathroom.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~A Few Minutes Earlier Outside the Window~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yusuke and Botan watched Joann give her explanation to Kuwabara.
"She doesn't seem like she has amnesia to me. I mean, how can she still remember her name?" Yusuke asked, as he sat Indian style while floating in the air.
Botan smiled before shaking her head.
"There are all types of amnesia cases. Her's is kind of common." Botan said, floating next to him.
Yusuke turned to the blue haired girl with a raised eyebrow.
"Well, I still think there is something off about her. I mean, she just randomly appeared in the middle of the road! Who does that?!" Yusuke said with a huff.
Botan seemed to be thinking the same thing.
'I should probably report this to Koenma...' she thinks.
"Well, I have to check on something. You try to stay out of trouble! Remember that egg!" Botan said, as she pulled out her oar.
Yusuke blinked at the angel of death. She hadn't left him alone too often since he had died. Before he could say anything, the deity of death flew off.
He watched her leave before grumbling. He turned back to Kuwabara's room. He blinked. The room was empty. He didn't even notice either of them leave the room. He huffed.
"Maybe I should check in on Keiko..." he mumbled to himself before flying off.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Scene Change~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Joann sighed as she felt hot water flow over her body. She loved taking showers. They always relaxed her. Whenever she was upset or even tense, a nice long hot shower would make her feel better. What also helped was she felt comfortable. It was so cliche but she would enjoy singing in the shower. It helped her think clearly as well. However, the problem was always trying to find a song that would fit her mood. Right now, she didn't know what song could fit what she was feeling. Ideas and bands went through her mind until one songs came to her mind. She grinned before putting shampoo in her hair and began to scrub.

Can't stay at home, can't stay at school, old folks say, ya poor little fool

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Scene Change~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kuwabara had been waiting for a while. He already took out the tv dinner he was going to eat. He didn't start it yet because he wanted to eat wither her. But Joann hadn't come downstairs yet. He was starting to get worried. It wasn't like he needed a reason to be worried. It was just it shouldn't have taken so long for her to change and come downstairs. His gut told him everything was okay and to no check on her. However, his brain was over riding this gut.
He walked up stairs and knocked on his own door.
"Carson-san?" he asked before peeking his head in.
He blinked before opening the door completely and looking around his room. He began to get worried. His ears twitched at something coming from the bathroom. He walked closer and heard the shower running. He let out a sigh of relief.
Kuwabara was about to go back downstairs when he heard something from the bathroom. He couldn't help but go to the door and lean his ear to the door. The tune sounded familiar.
*rocking out the instrumental part*
Hey street boy what's your style, Your dead end dreams don't make you smile?
I'll give ya something to live for, Have ya grab ya til you're sore!
Hello Daddy, hello Mom, ch ch ch ch ch
Cherry bomb!
Hello world I'm your wild girl, ch ch ch ch ch.
Cherry bomb!
Cherry bomb! Cherry bomb! Cherry bomb! Cherry bomb! Cherry bomb! Cherry booooooommmmmb!
Kuwabara knew of the song. It was an oldie but a good. He found her voice not too bad. He couldn't help but nod his head to the beat, closing his eyes as he did. It was pretty good how she paused at the right spots and kept at what sounded like the right pace. He couldn't sing, softly, at the chorus. Once the song was over, the shower turned off. He jumped away from the door with wide eyes. He didn't need her to think he was a perv! He turned and rushed back down the stairs.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Inside the Bathroom~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Joann got out of the shower. She let out a sigh of content. She heard a noise at the door. She waited to see if she could hear anything but nothing. She shrugged her shoulders before drying herself off and let out a sigh as she dried herself off. She was relaxed and ready to face her new reality. It wasn't so bad. It was something she had dreamed of for so long. Hell, she was sure many other fan girls dreamt the same thing! So why get so upset and jittery about it? She put on the clothes and looked at herself in the mirror. The shirt fit fine as did the pants. However, she was right about the bra not boobs looked bigger than they really were. They were being squished together. She knew it was going to bother her until she got a better bra. She huffed before going back to Kuwabara's room to brush her hair.

After Joann brushed her hair, she found the stairs and headed down. She found the front door was a few feet from where the steps ended. She turned to her right and there was what looked to be a small living room, only having a couch, a loveseat that could fit two people, a small coffee table, and a decent size tv.

Joann stepped off the step and walked towards a light that shone from another room. A table and chairs indicated that the area a little way from the couch was the dining room, meaning the kitchen wasn't too far. In front of the couch was a tv with a VCR player underneath it. On each side of the tv were shelves that had a mix of VHS and some books. She felt as if she was in the twilight zone.

'I haven't seen that in years...' she thought as she walked past it.

Joann walked towards the open door way, figuring it had to be the kitchen. It was the last room in the two story apartment anyway.

The kitchen was small but the right size to cook and have maybe two people sit at the small table. It was pushed against the wall and had two chairs, one at each end. Behind the one chair was the refrigerator. To the right of the fridge was a small counter top before a gas powered oven. Above the oven was an old looking microwave, though for this time period it was a 'newer' model.

On the wall to the left were some cabinet and a sink with a dishwasher to the left of the sink.

"Ready to eat?" Kuwabara asked, sitting at the farthest chair in the kitchen.

Joann nodded.

"What do you have?" she asked, walking a bit more into the room.

"Plenty of tv dinners." Kuwabara said, standing up and opening the freezer.

He stood back so Joann could look at the choices. She walked up and looked in. There were a lot of choices. It seemed no one really cooked in the house.

"Normally my sis cooks. But she's at work. So she stack up on tv dinners." Kuwabara said with a shrug.

Joann made an 'o' before finding one that she liked.

Kuwabara took it from her hand, making her look at him.

"I'll make it." he said, noticing her look.

"I can cook it!" Joann said.

"Nope, I got it. Go sit down over there." he said, pointing at the dining room.

Joann continued to look at him before sitting down. She felt a bit awkward just sitting there and not doing anything. She ended up just looking around. The house was pretty nice and looked homie. She turned to look at Kuwabara, who was looking away from her. After a couple more minutes of watching him prep both her and his own dinner, she sighed and leaned back in the chair.

'This is so awesome! I can't wait to tell the guys!' Kuwabara thought with a silly grin.

The two were quiet for a moment. The only noise was the microwave which was humming in the background.

Joann couldn't stand the quiet any longer and stood up. Kuwabara turned around.

"What do you have to drink?" she asked before opening the fridge.

"Depends on what you like." Kuwabara said with a shrug.

Joann nodded before looking into the fridge. There was some non-brand soda, orange juice, grape juice, and some water. She looked over her options. She didn't feel like a soda so that was out. She looked at the orange juice. It seemed to be calling out to her. She took it out and looked around.

As if Kuwabara read her mind, he handed her a tall glass. Their fingers brushed, sending a soft chill down both of their spines. Luckily, Joann had a good grip on the glass or it would have fallen and broke. She turned around and hid the faint blush that crossed her cheeks. Kuwabara turned around as well, hiding his own blush.

The microwave went off, signaling her food was ready.

The beeping seemed to clear the air a bit. Joann put the juice back before sipping it.

"Dinner's up!" Kuwabara said putting the food on a plate, taking off the plastic before handing it to the girl.

"Thank you." Joann said.

She took the plate and headed to the dining room table. Kuwabara popped his dinner into the microwave. He stood with his back against the counter top. They went back to silence. Joann didn't like silence and decided to start a conversation.

"So what is up with all those books in your room?" she asked.

Her food was too hot for her to eat, but she was really waiting until Kuwabara's food was done. She thought it was rude to start eating when someone else's food wasn't ready.

Kuwabara frowned. He didn't want to think about that rat face teacher and his challenge.

"It's nothing major. Just have to pass a test with a fifty or more." Kuwabara said, sipping from the name brand soda can.

Joann nodded. It seemed he was keeping the reasoning a secret. It made her smile. He had promised Obuko that he would keep it a secret.

They went back to silence, not knowing what to say.

BEEP BEEP BEEP

The two jumped at the sudden noise. It was the microwave signalling that Kuwabara's dinner was finally done. Kuwabara turned and took out his food. He put it on a plate he had out. Joann sat there, staring at her untouched food. It looked like it was cool enough to eat, which was perfect timing. Kuwabara walked over to the table with his dinner and his drink. He sat down. He glanced over at the girl.

She seemed to be deep in thought. Kuwabara continued to stare for a few more minutes before noticing she hadn't touched her food.

"You could have started without me." Kuwabara said, pointing to her plate.

Joann snapped out of her thoughts. She noticed where Kuwabara was pointing before shaking her head.

"I know, but it's rude." she said with a weak smile.

Kuwabara thought about that and nodded, agreeing. The two started to eat in silence when, once again, the silence got to the girl.

"So," she started, taking a sip of her soda.

"What's the test? You know, the one you need to pass by at least 50 points?" she asked before digging into her food.

Kuwabara took a sip from his canned soda. He seemed to think about her question.

"Well, the test is science, which isn't one of my best subjects, heck none of them are my best subjects. Well, maybe gym, but that's 'cause you don't really hafta do anything." Kuwabara said, before eating.

Joann thought about it for a moment while eating a bit more of her own food.

"Well," Joann started, getting Kuwabara's attention.

"I would be glad to help you with your science test. I can help you study. Science is one of my best subjects! Science and history, I suck at math, so don't even think about help there." she said with a laugh.

Kuwabara's eyes seemed to light up at that.

"Really?! Oh, thank you! I really need help with it! I've studied all day but don't know if it's actually working or if it is enough!" Kuwabara said.

Joann smiled at him.

"No problem. When do you want to start?" she asked, finishing up her food.

Kuwabara had just finished his own food before standing up, taking his and her dish to the sink. Joann was a bit shocked at him taking her dish. She shook her head. Kuwabara turned around.

"How's right now."

"Ok." she said with a shrug.

The two took their drinks and walked up stairs, Kuwabara explaining what exactly he was stuck with and not understanding. When they got into his room, the two went to his desk. Joann pulled over a stool and sat next to him, looking over at the book he had opened. She blushed slightly at how close they were, but it soon disappeared as she turned her focus on helping Kuwabara understand the material in front of him.

This went on for three hours before a yawn came from the both of them. Joann was happy to see that Kuwabara had seemed to understand the material.

"Ok, that's good for tonight, now time for sleep. Since I'm up, you can have your bed back." Joann said, standing up and stretching.

She sighed and walked over to his bed, picking up her blanket and Koga.

"No you can have it; I'm starting to like the couch anyway." Kuwabara said, standing up and stretching himself.

Joann knew that he had lied, but she decided not to push. She knew that when Kuwabara made up his mind, then that was it.

Joann bowed her head slightly.

"Thank you." she said with a smile.

Joann went over to the small pile of clothes he had brought in earlier. She picked out some comfy looking pj pants that were a brown color, while the top was a white long sleeved shirt.

Kuwabara turned to his drawer and grabbed a shirt and long pants. He was about to leave before stopping and turning to Joann who was waiting for the carrot top to leave the room so she could change.

"Are you going to sign up for school tomorrow." He asked as he stood in the doorway.

She could tell he really wanted her there with him.

"No problem. I'll get my uniform tomorrow." Joann said with a smile.

He smiled at her before leaving.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~The Next Morning~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Joann felt someone shaking her shoulders. She groaned.
"Carson-san! Hey, wake up! We have to leave soon!"
Joann pulled her Scooby-Doo blanket over her head.
"I don't wanna go to school..." she whined.
"And call me Joann..." she mumbled, as it seemed she was about to go back to sleep.
Joann epped when she felt her Scooby-Doo blanket pulled off. She growled and turned an angry face to Kuwabara who looked down at her with a serious look. It was clear by the look he was giving her that he had tried to wake her up for a while.
She had always been a deep sleeper. She sat up, still glaring at Kuwabara, hugging herself, and finding Kuwabara's room unusually cold. Kuwabara put the blanket over his shoulder, before crossing his arms over his chest.
Joann growled and jumped forward, trying to grab her blanket back. This had shocked Kuwabara and he took a step backwards from the attack, causing the poor girl to fall to the floor with a groan.
"Damn it!" Joann growled.
Kuwabara looked down at her, which was a funny sight. The girl's legs were in the air, leaning against the bed as her face had a scowl on it as it laid against the floor. Kuwabara couldn't help but chuckle at the funny scene; however, his eyes glanced towards his clock on his desk.
"Come on! We need to get to school early!" Kuwabara said sounding just as aggravated as the girl.
Joann sat up and was about to yell at him when the words 'early' clicked in her brain. She turned her head towards the clock. Even at the angle she was laying on the floor, it was clear that the clock read 6:01 am. She turned a twitching eye towards a still annoyed Kuwabara, giving him a 'What the hell is your problem?!' look.
"How much is early?" Joann asked.
Joann knew the school system in Japan was different than from the US. They even had school on Saturdays, although it was only half days. She was starting to wish that she had told him her real age so she could sleep in. It would have been nice to not have to worry about going somewhere, not to mention get up early. But it was too late now.
"School starts at 8, but I wanna leave by 7:00." Kuwabara said.
He didn't explain that it was to prevent himself from running into thugs that might want to attack him. She didn't need to know that information. Especially since Obuko made him promise to keep it a secret.
Joann didn't understand why it was so important to go this early. She growled before picking herself off the floor. Even if she wanted to go back to sleep, she was wide awake now.
"So what do I wear? I mean, I don't have a uniform or anything." she said, sitting back on the bed, sitting Indian style.
Kuwabara stood there in thought, her blanket still on his shoulder. She noticed that he was already dressed. She wondered how early he had gotten up, if he was already ready at this ungodly hour. Kuwabara snapped his fingers before taking out an old uniform. It was green just like Yusuke's but a bit smaller.
"This is the winter uniform from last semester. It should fit you." Kuwabara said, throwing the uniform on the bed.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Outside the Window~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Yusuke had laughed at how Joann looked when she fell on the ground. Botan gave him a disapproval look. However, he ignored it. He noticed Kuwabara taking out an uniform that was his color.

"Huh, didn't know he had a different uniform than the blue one." he thought aloud.

"Why are you the only one to wear green?" Botan asked with an interested look.

"Cause I look good in green." Yusuke said with a grin.

Botan couldn't help but shake her head.

The two turned back to the open window. Kuwabara had just left. However, what really caught the ghost's attention was Joann taking off her shirt. He had a pretty good view of her back. His brown eyes widened.

Joann visible shivered. It seemed she was noticing someone looking at her. However, she didn't turn around.

Botan's face turned red before she grabbed Yusuke by the arm.

"Let's follow Kuwabara!" she said while pulling him out of view of the window.

"Hey!" Yusuke shouted, a bit disappointed.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Scene Change~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The two began to walk to school. The uniform, because it was a boys, was a bit tight across the chest area. It was still comfortable. The two walked in silence which was driving the girl up the wall again! She would have said something if she wasn't feeling as if she was being watched. She felt the same way when she had taken off her shirt. A thought had crossed her mind, that it was Yusuke. But that couldn't be since Botan would have noticed the girl changing and pull him away.
A slight chill went down her spine. This one was different from when Yusuke was close to her. It felt like one of those 'bad' feelings. She was walking so close behind Kuwabara that she didn't notice he had stopped suddenly. She bumped into him, making a noise. She looked up at him. He had a serious face and was staring straight ahead of him.
There were three guys in the middle of the sidewalk, blocking the two's path to school. The boys looked rough and had evil smiles on their faces. Another chill went down her spine.
'It must be those guys that are causing this feeling.' Joann thought.
Kuwabara clenched his fists and glared at the newcomers, who were unable to see Joann from how protectively Kuwabara stood.
"What do ya guys want?" Kuwabara said with a growl.
Joann could feel an overwhelming sense of protection. She didn't know why she was feeling it, or knowing it felt like a 'protective' feeling. But she could also feel an intense feeling of bad intentions. That one she figured was from the guys and the protection obviously from Kuwabara.
It wasn't long until Kuwabara was pulled away and began to get beaten up. Joann watched with wide eyes for a moment. It was so quick that it stunned her. She stayed in shock, just watching Kuwabara get beat up. A whistle caused her to look away.
"Hey there, why is such a beautiful babe like you hanging with an ugly baka like Kuwabara?" asked one of the guys.
The other two were continuing to beat on Kuwabara. He was flat on his stomach, not even trying to defend himself. Not even his hands covered his head! Joann could feel herself fill with anger. She couldn't stand seeing anyone in trouble or getting hurt.
"He's better looking than you." she said with a snort.
The guy was taken aback before snorting. He grabbed her by the arm, which caught the girl off guard.
"You're a feisty one. That's how I like my play things." he said as he licked his lips.
"Leave her alone!"
The two boys who had been beating up Kuwabara, jumped back as the carrot top began to stand up. Joann's eyes widened as she watched him stumble.
'This isn't good...' Joann thought.
She remembered that Kuwabara couldn't fight back, not for the rest of the week anyway. She had to do something before he broke the bet and his promise.
"Oh, so now you want to fight, eh?" he said with a laugh.
Kuwabara stood there, fists clenched at his side.
"I'm warning you." Kuwabara said in a low voice.
Joann knew she had to do something and quickly.
"He's not the one you should worry about." Joann hissed.
This caused the guy to look at her. However, that was his mistake. She threw her head back before slamming it into his nose. He instantly let her go and held his bleeding nose.
"Ah, you bitch!" he growled from behind his hands.
Joann growled before kicking the guy in the groin. The poor guy didn't know if he should grab his nose or croutch. But he fell to the ground, curled up in the fetal position. The other two guys turned to the girl.
"That was a mistake!" one growled before rushing at her.
Joann smirked before grabbing his arm, in mid punch. She used his momentum to throw him into a nearby fence. He hit it hard and ended up flipping over it. He groaned from the other side. She snickered.
"Carmen-san! Watch out!" Kuwabara shouted, his hand outstretched.
Joann felt someone grab her hair and pull her backwards. She yelped in surprise. The guy snickered as he pulled at her hair. Joann growled as she grabbed the hand with both of her own. The guy began to laugh, waiting to hear her cries of anguish and feel her struggle. However, neither of those happened. She began to spin, holding tightly on to his hand. Her starting to move caught him off guard and made him stumble. The guy's eyes widened as he found himself starting to rise off the ground. He would have flown away if it wasn't for Joann's hand still holding his. The guy screamed in fear as Joann screamed in anger. (3)
The moment she let go of the guy's hand, the guy had let go of her hair and flew backwards. Kuwabara yelped and moved just in time as the guy flew past him and slammed hard onto the pavement. Joann rubbed her head, where the hair had been pulled at.
"Asshole..." she growled as she combed her fingers through her hair.
Kuwabara didn't move. He was still too much in shock to really comprehend what had just taken place.
Joann was a bit out of breath. It had been a while since she fought like that. She wasn't fat or thin but it was obvious she was still out of shape. Kuwabara blinked at her. She was finally able to catch her breath and walked up to Kuwabara.
"Let's go." she said before taking Kuwabara's hand and heading towards school.
Well, she assumed it was the direction of the school.
"And just call me Joann." she added, remembering that he called her by her last name.
She understood that in the Japanese culture it was proper to call someone by their last name. However, it was fine to use the first name if they are close or given permission. She was giving him permission. Although, in his defense, she had only called him Kuwabara. So maybe it was fair?
"How did you...when did you...what the..." Kuwabara couldn't complete any of his sentences as she dragged him.
Joann ignored him while she pulled him down the street. It too the teen a few minutes before he snapped out of his shock. He stopped suddenly, making Joann stumble backwards. She blinked before looking up at the serious looking carrot top.
"Hold on a minute." Kuwabara said.
Joann tilted her head to the side not sure what was the problem.
Kuwabara was about to speak before he noticed they were still holding hands. He blushed slightly before pulling back the hand and using it to scratch the back of his head. He gave a nervous laugh before turning serious.
"How did you do that?! Those moves were awesome!"
Joann's eyes widened as panic filled her. She couldn't tell him that she knew karate! She wasn't suppose to remember anything from before she appeared the day after yesterday. There would be so many questions that she wasn't ready to answer.
"I don't know...I guess I'm starting to remember some stuff...like...fighting?" she said, hoping he'd believe that.
Joann looked up at Kuwabara. He seemed to be struggling with something as well as contemplating what she had said. After a few more moments, a grin appeared on his lips.
"I'm glad you are starting to remember stuff! Maybe you'll remember more stuff." he said.
Joann let a sigh of relief.
'It seems he's happy for me.' she thought.
He gave her one last smile before walking ahead of her. She shook her head and followed behind him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~In the Sky~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Yusuke and Botan had seen the entire fight. Yusuke was staring down in complete shock.

"Geez, I better not make her mad!" Yusuke said.

Botan smiled.

"You go girl!"

Yusuke looked at Botan and sweat dropped.

"It's kind of late to say that." he said.

Botan just gave him a glare, which caused the poor teen to scoot away from her.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~At School~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Really Kuwabara, I can always get another job?" said Okubo.
Kuwabara just laughed at that comment.
"It's ok. I can handle it. I took worse from Urameshi! Besides, I miss his daily beatin's anyway!" said Kuwabara laughing more.
It was here Joann ran up to the group. Once the two had gotten to school, Kuwabara helped Joann get situated before heading to his class. That's when he ran into the rest of his friends.
Joann had gotten the girl's uniform. She didn't like them and wish she was back wearing the green uniform.
'I feel like I'm wearing Kagome's short skirt from Inuyasha!' she thought as she pulled at her skirt.
It didn't seem to want to go any lower than the middle of her knees. Her top was too tight, because of her breasts. And to top it all off, she didn't know how to tie the yellow tie!
"I wish I could just wear that green uniform!" Joann said as she pulled the skirt back to her knees.
Kuwabara stared at her. She totally didn't look like a little girl in the uniform. She didn't look old either. She looked around his age. But that wasn't the point. She looked really hot in the uniform. His three friends seemed to agree as they couldn't help but stare at her either.
Joann let out a sigh as she was able to pull the skirt down. The hem now rested right in the middle of her hip. If it went any further down, the skirt would fall completely off. She looked up and noticed the group looking at her.
Kuwabara snapped out of his stupor and cleared his throat, turning to his stun friends.
"You guys remember Carson-san. Well, she's gonna be staying with me for a while. Until everything gets figured out anyway." Kuwabara said, a small grin on his lips.
"For the last time just call me Joann." Joann said, sighing and crossing her hands over her chest.
Before Kuwabara could answer, he was interrupted.
"What?! Are you crazy?!" said Kirishima
"Yeah, where is she sleeping?" asked Okubo. "There are not enough rooms at your place."
"I'm sleeping in his room." Joann said.
This caused them to sweat drop.
"Perverts! I'm sleeping on the couch!" said Kuwabara, guessing what they were thinking.
Joann couldn't help but smile and laugh. School might not be too horrible after all.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~The Night Before the Test~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Joann helped Kuwabara study every night for three hours. He was improving every time the two would study together. Joann was going to make sure that stupid teacher of his wouldn't have a chance to change Kuwabara's grade by erasing one answer. She wanted Kuwabara to pass by more than 50 points.

Joann still slept in his bed and he still slept on the couch. Kuwabara promised they would go out and buy more clothes. Maybe even buy a sleeping bag, which was Joann's idea for her to sleep in. Kuwabara was against the idea, however, Joann insisted that a bed would be too expensive and there was no space to put it. So a sleeping bag would work. Besides, she wasn't going to sleep in the living room.

The real reason for not wanting to sleep in the living room was she was comfortable in Kuwabara's room. She liked his bed but knew it wasn't right to use his bed. She didn't know how long she would be stuck in this world. But for the moment, she had to deal with it.

So the rest of the week went without another incident. The two would leave at random times as to not run into any more of the gangs looking to get revenge on Kuwabara. The rest of Kuwabara's gang did the same thing. They kept that up the rest of the week until it was the night before the test.

Joann and Kuwabara were sitting at the desk, going over the last bit of questions.

"What causes the blood to..." Joann began before yawning, "the blood..."

"You should go to bed." Kuwabara said with a chuckle.

Joann's eyes were half open as another yawn escaped her lips.

"No..." she began before her eyes snapped open and she slapped her cheeks.

Kuwabara jumped and stared at her with wide eyes.

"NO! I need to stay up and help you study! Besides, I have that same test! I am in your class too." Joann said with determination in her eyes.

Joann wasn't going to fail out of middle school! She was going to do her best, despite the fact she shouldn't even be going to school, let alone middle school.

Kuwabara gulped but nodded.

"Why don't we work on our flashcards?" Joann said, pulling out a pen and some index cards.

Kuwabara nodded before starting to write the questions on the front of the index cards with the answers on the back.

Kuwabara had been so focus on writing that he jumped at the thud on the desk. He looked over and saw Joann's head on the table. She was passed out. Kuwabara blinked at her for a moment before quietly chuckling.

"I told you." he whispered before standing up and stretching.

He looked down at the sleeping girl. Her hair, which had been pulled back by a headband, was falling over the headband and into her face. Her breathing moved the hair back and forth, making Kuwabara's grin widen.

'She's too cute...' he thought before gently picking her up.

He looked down at her, as he held her bridal style in his arms. Her head rested against his shoulder. He shivered against the warmth of her breath on his neck. He felt her snuggle closer to him within his arms. He felt his face flush before shaking his head.

Kuwabara put her in his bed. He put Koga next to her, which she instinctively hugged to her chest. He couldn't hold back the chuckle before covering her with her blanket. She snuggled into it. He couldn't help but smile at her. A strain of hair fell into her face as she turned onto her side. Kuwabara's hand brushed the strain away. Her lips were partly open as a soft snore came from the open lips.

Kuwabara couldn't help but stare at those lips. He shook his head and slapped his cheeks, just as Joann had done a bit earlier. He had to focus on studying, for Obkuo's sake! He went back to his desk and after a half an hour of studying, he passed out on his notebook.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~The Next Day~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Joann noticed that Kuwabara was more excited about the test. She smiled to herself.
'Yusuke must have helped him. At least I'm not screwing up too much of the story.' she thought.
Joann took a five minute shower which was an all time record for her. She quickly changed and left, not after waving bye to a still studying Kuwabara.
Joann ended up standing by the gate of the school. She watched as more people began to enter the school grounds. She even saw Keiko who smiled and waved at her. Joann didn't really talk to the brunette much but they were at least friendly to each other.
She looked at her watch, well Kuwabara's watch that she was borrowing. Kuwabara had ten minutes before school would officially start. She began to tap her foot as she stood there with her arms crossed. She was starting to get worried.
'I hope I didn't interfere too much! What if Yusuke isn't following Kuwabara, but he followed me?' she thought.
Her eyes widened at the thought. She grew even more worried. Her fears disappeared when she saw the carrot top round the corner. He was nose deep in his science book. She let out a relieved sigh.
'Yusuke must have helped him.' she thought.
It was here she noticed Yusuke's presence. She mentally hit herself. She would have noticed his spirit if he had followed her to school. She turned her attention back to Kuwabara.
"Hey Kuwabara! You got ten minutes until the test! You better get to class!" Joann yelled.
He looked up from his book and ran to the gate.
"Thanks Carson-san!" he said as he ran past her.
"What did I say? Just call me Joann?!" she shouted after him.
Joann snorted before a smile crossed her lips.
'Good luck.' she thought.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~After School~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

When the final bell rang, both Kuwabara and Joann headed out of the classroom. It was a Saturday, which was usually a half day. However, they decided to come back around 4 or 5 to see the test results. They would be posted outside the door to their homeroom.

Okubo had to go home to check on his mother and siblings. He had planned to come back. Sawamura decided to go to the local book store. One of his favorite mangas had been released that day. He would also be back in time to see the test results.

That left Joann, Kuwabara, and Kirishima. They went to get some lunch before heading back to the school. They went up to the roof and decided to play some card games. Mostly Old Maid. Kuwabara was pretty good. Joann figured it was because of his sixth sense. She wasn't as bad as poor Kirishima. He didn't really stand a chance against two people who had a way to sense which cards to stay away from. Kirishima became fed up and decided to go home real quick to walk his dog.

When four o'clock hit, Kuwabara's name was announced over the loudspeaker by that rat faced teacher. It seemed he knew the carrot top was still on school grounds. The two looked at each other before they both headed to the office. However, the teacher had met them in the hallway.

"I don't need to talk to you Carson-san. I only need Kuwabara." the teacher said with a disturbing grin.

"I'll stay." Joann said with narrowed eyes as she crossed her arms over her chest.

"Suit yourself. But I wanted to save Kuwabara here from getting more embarrassed."

"What do you mean by that?" Kuwabara asked with a scowl.

The teacher snickered before handing Kuwabara his test paper. Kuwabara looked at it for a moment. His eyes widened.

"What? This can't be right?" Kuwabara whispered.

Joann looked concerned as she watched Kuwabara's face.

"What's wrong?"

Without even looking at her, Kuwabara handed her the paper. She looked at the grade and almost fell. It was a 48!

"What the...How can this be? You studied for the past week for this test!" Joann shouted.

She thought for sure the teacher couldn't mess with his grade.

"It seems that Kuwabara is just too stupid to learn anything. Too bad for Okubo's job." the teacher said as he turned and started walking away, laughing.

Joann just couldn't believe it. She looked over his answers and discovered that some of them were changed! She could tell because some of the correct answers in some spots looked as if they were erased!

"Kuwabara, I think he changed your answers!" Joann said, dumbfounded.

She was sure she had prevented the teacher from cheating, but obviously, he was too shallow for her to even comprehend. Kuwabara grabbed the paper from her and saw it too. He growled and crumbled up the paper. He ran towards the teacher and pulled his hand back.

Joann gasped. She had forgotten what would happen and reached out her hand.

"Wait!" she shouted.

Joann froze as she felt something wiz past him. It gave her a chill down her spine. She watched as Kuwabara's fist headed quickly towards the teacher's face. However, it stopped. It was here that Joann remembered Yusuke was able to reach Kuwabara on an emotional level. She could feel the intensity of Yusuke's emotion of worry. After a minute, Kuwabara let go of the teacher. His head was down as he walked away.

"Kuwabara..." she whispered, as he walked by her.

He couldn't even look at her. She watched him as he disappeared around the corner of the hallway.

"What a baka." said the teacher.

It was here Joann's anger kicked in. She turned flame filled eyes towards the teacher. She was in front of the man in a second. The teacher stumbled backwards in shock and fear.

"How dare you?! You're suppose to help your students not make them fail! I know you did something to his answers. You are a horrible teacher not to mention a person." Joann growled, spitting at him before turning and rushing off in the direction Kuwabara had gone.

She followed him until they were in the school yard. His head down and he looked miserable. She really wanted to help him, but there was nothing she could do.

"I'm so sorry Kuwabara. I wish I could have done something...anything to keep that jerk off your back! At least I gave him a piece of my mind!" Joann said, clenching her fists.

Kuwabara didn't hear her though. He was too deep in thought.

'I should have hit him.' she thought with a growl.

Just then, they heard Kuwabara's friends calling him.

"Kuwabara! Everyone passed the test!"

Joann and Kuwabara stopped walking and turned to look at Sawamura. Their eyes were wide and full of shock.

It was here Joann remembered that the principle was there when the two teachers developed that plan.

She mentally kicked herself for forgetting that.

"Really?!" asked Kuwabara.

"Yeah!" they all shouted full of excitement.

"Thanks, you guys you are the greatest. I didn't know what I would do if I lost my job." said Okubo, who was wiping the tears from his eyes.

"What are friends for?" said Kuwabara.

Kuwabara forgot Joann wasn't suppose to know and gave a guilty face.

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you all that was going on. But I made a promise." Kuwabara said with an apologetic smile.

Joann smiled before nodding.

"It's fine. I mean, you gotta do what you got to do. And it was to help out Okubo. Which I'm so happy everything is going to be fine with you." She said, turning towards the short chubby teen.

He smiled at her and nodded.

They began to all walk away when Joann and Kuwabara felt Yusuke. Kuwabara looked up into the sky. Joann just smiled with closed eyes as she stood next to Kuwabara.

"Thanks" whispered Kuwabara as he looked up towards Yusuke's energy.

"Hey Kuwabara, you talking to a ghost?" asked Kirishima.

"Nope...just listening to the wind." Kuwabara said with one last smile.

He turned back towards his friends. The group all headed back to Kuwabara's house to celebrate them all passing not only the test but the week itself.

(1)- Back in the early 2000's you could change the channel with the buttons on the television. Not the input channels, but the channel's it self. But this story takes place in 2005 which was the last time that could happen.

(2)- Being a girl who looks waaay younger than she truly is...and being short, it is very annoying when you are trying to look intimidating or even sexy and be called cute...same thing goes with the boob, I have boobs that are big and don't really fit my body...they aren't huge but they look out of whack hahaha.

(3)- I know this makes no sense...but come on it's a fan fiction and she's in an anime haha ;P I hope you guys enjoyed the silly moment anyway. Also, we'll chalk it up to her being so pissed off she blacked out and didn't realize she did that haha.
