Mavis was never going to let Zera set her up on a blind date ever again.

She held onto the hope that Zera had no idea how irritating Zirconis was. This was honestly the worst date she had ever been on.

The waiter came to take their orders. He had black hair and eyes. His nametag said his name was Zeref.

Zirconis was extremely rude to him while ordering but Zeref was polite about it. Mavis resolved to leave him a huge tip.

When Zeref left, Zirconis continued talking about himself nonstop. Mavis wondered if Zera was mentally stable, considering she set them up.

Zeref returned with their orders as Mavis was considering throwing her purse at Zirconis.

Zeref gave Mavis her pasta dish and Zirconis his steak.

"Would you like pepper with your steak?" Zeref asked Zirconis politely.

Zirconis answered, "No thanks."

Zeref nodded "Alright sir. Would you like pepper with your water?"

"What the hell?" Zirconis snapped at him.

"Would you like pepper with your water sir?" Zeref asked again calmly.

"No I wouldn't!" Zirconis exclaimed.

Mavis bit her lip to hold in her laughter.

Zeref calmly replied. "Very well sir. Would you like some pepper with your tie?"

Zirconis yelled. "What the hell is wrong with you?"

Zeref blinked. "Nothing sir. I just want to make sure you enjoy your meal."

"I don't want pepper with my f*cking tie!" Zirconis snapped.

"Some pepper with your jacket tonight sir?" Zeref asked.

Mavis, her sides hurting from holding in laughter, asked Zeref "May I have some pepper with my purse?"

Zeref nodded his head. "Of course ma'am."

Zirconis stood up suddenly. "I want a new waiter!"

Zeref turned towards him. "I'm sorry sir. We're short staffed tonight. It's just me, my brother, and his friend."

Zeref nodded towards a table on the other side of the room where a pink haired man in the same uniform as him was wrestling with a dark haired man who had lost his uniform shirt.

Zirconis grabbed his jacket from the back of his chair and stormed out of the restaurant. Mavis gave up on holding in her laughter and let herself crack up until she almost cried.

Wiping the tears from her eyes, Mavis said "Thanks for that."

Zeref smiled at her. "I could tell you were miserable."

Mavis looked at the waiter again. She noticed that he was pretty cute.

Shifting in her seat, Mavis asked "When does your shift end?"

"We close at ten." Zeref answered.

Tucking her hair behind her ear, Mavis asked "Would you like to grab coffee afterward?"

Zeref smiled. "That'd be nice."
