"How dare you insult Captain Aizen like that?!" Hinamori Momo cried out furiously, shaking with protective anger for her beloved captain.
"Momo!" Kira cried out in shock as his dear, and usually timid friend yelled unabashedly at his captain.
"Now, now lil' Momo-chan" Gin Ichimaru crooned mockingly at the small lieutenant captain "What'cha gonna do? Bite me?" Gin had no affection for his replacement as Captain Aizen's lieutenant. He knew that Aizen's kindness toward her was as much as an act as his 'hatred' toward Gin, but that didn't stop it from peeving Gin to no end.
Sosuke Aizen had promised that Gin would always be the person truly closest to the enigmatic captain, and yet the isolation he suffered from acting on Aizen's orders; to 'lose the trust of soul society' stung like the tails of a cat-o-nine whip. His only consolation was the continued loyalty of his best friend, Matsumoto Rangiku, the cutesy antics of his bashful new lieutenant, and the rare nights still spent with the man he loved.
"Why you--!!!" Hinamori was cut off by Captain Aizen himself.
"Momo, calm yourself." Aizen ordered with faux kindness. "good day Captain Ichimaru." he added with coldness that was just as faked as the kindness he had used on Hinamori. He gently led his still glaring little lieutenant away.
"C'mon Kira-kun" Gin said in a carefully upbeat voice "I've got lot'sa paperwork for ya to help me out with! He skipped off dragging his confused and disheveled blond subordinate with him.

Gin curled his lanky body up into a ball on his futon, burying his head in his knees. His false smile had long since left his face. Th'damned act makes me sick! He thought desolately. Aizen had warned him that his role would be the hardest. Untold years spent separated from Sosuke, the man he loved so much. Purposely bringing mistrust and hatred upon himself. This was hell. All Gin could do was wait, wait until the plan was readied. Then he'd be free from this place, built on leis and corruption. He'd enter a world where he was the favorite of God.
