Sky
He is a wanting bird.
He wants to escape his hellish cage; life that is meaningless, drench in blood, not only his own.
But Agito is bound to a life of destruction that is all that he has and he knows.
….
Nakayama Yayoi has known nothing but the ordinary.
Every day, all she looks forward to is reading the stash of manga borrowed from Emily and gazing at the shimmering stars at night.
She doesn't even know a single constellation.
….
Agito's days are full of fights and blood.
He gets into fights in school, out of school, and everywhere he goes.
Every day, it gets harder to quell the bloodlust.
….
There is only one thing that Nakayama is especially good at, counting time without the aid of any devices. She doesn't know where she got this because not even her tou-san and kaa-san have the same ability.
However, no matter how extraordinary her ability is, it remains useless because Nakayama is still ordinary.
….
Secretly, Agito loves peace.
He is a hunter always looking for prey, but even hunters need rests. He finds it in the sky.
….
Nakayama is ordinary and she prefers it to remain that way.
She loves sunny days and sitting under the shade of a huge tree to daydream.
In one of these days, she meets him.
He is like a tsunami—no, more like a shark—because he prowls like he is moving in water with liquid grace and ferocious precision. He is all cold, but his eyes burn like fire. He is a contradiction.
But Nakayama, average, ordinary Nakayama, is scared.
He is intensity wrapped in a small nimble form of a boy. A handsome albeit, short boy.
He stalks to her direction like a predator and she is stuck in his golden eyes like a deer caught in the headlights.
His eyes shine brighter than the sun, but they hide shadows.
She knows he is entirely capable of breaking the shell she built up around herself.
….
He meets her grey eyes and unknowingly, he bares her soul.
In them he sees something he's wanted and loathed for so long. She has the freedom that he's wanted, but she is encased in her own cage.
Desperately, they both want to be free.
….
"Fuck."
"Are you just gonna sit there?"
She smiles hesitantly still scared shitless of letting go of everything that she has known. "I have nothing better to do."
He smirks. "Come with me."
Her eyes are brimming with uncertainty. "Where?"
His gives her a feral grin.
"To the sky."
