A prayer
Master Kazuma sat by his bed and prayed.
Dear Lord who governs over us all. I thank you for all the gifts you have given me.
His martial arts skills, his home, his assistant and Kyo. His precious son and second chance- a repentance.
I ask you, oh Lord, of my sins past
His ignorance towards his grandfather. His selfish intentions for taking Kyo in. All of it was his guilt, his sins for which he must repent and make up for.
Present
Even now he sinned, he lied. His falsity even alarmed himself. His reason for returning, his biggest lie, not to take Kyo away and protect him, no, not that at all.
And future
Surely he would sin again, he was planning on it. To steal the bracelet, deceive his hearts son, to frighten an innocent child and gamble with the lives of those he cared about. Oh yes, the future held more sin on his part without a doubt.
Please grant me forgiveness
Not only by the divine being but also those he trespassed against. Ha! The cheek and audacity to want supreme forgiveness. To want trust from those he deceived and faith from one robbed. Still… he could dare to hope
I also ask of you
What greed and selfishness, to continue asking for things when he had already asked for more then he deserved…or expected.
If there is an angel spare in heaven that you send them to watch over this home
Not house. The house could burn to rubble for all he cared as long as the love, care and hope survived. He begged with all his heart that even a weak angel be sent to protect his Kyo.
Keep my soul and those of the children
Well his soul was worth little but the children, for that all they were, all of the zodiacs, mere children. Their souls were so clean and untainted by the evils that happened around them.
The power and the glory are yours for ever and ever
Because he sure didn't deserve any.
Amen
With all his heart and soul (what was left anyway) he said that word and hoped that it would not fall on deaf ears. That somehow it would reach someone.
"Master Kazuma?" Tohru's voice brought him out of his thoughts.
"Huh?" he looked up
"are you alright?" she asked earnestly.
"fine thank-you" he grinned. Tohru smiled brightly.
"thank goodness. Dinners ready if you'd like to join us!" Master Kazuma chuckled at her smile and words, "what's funny?"
"nothing" he replied, "I just think god heard my prayer"
"uh….prayer?"
"nothing, lets eat"
AN: wrote this ages ago and just found it. I'm a Christian so I always wanted to look at someone's prayers. They are so deeply personal and emotional. What do you think?
