Chapter 1
Once upon a time there was a beautiful brunette princess, her name was Mikan Sakura. In an age when every princess was expected to be the fairest in the land she was certainly just as lovely as all the rest, but she was having the usual trouble, although handsome princes came from far and wide to ask for her hand in marriage, she couldn't decide upon any of them.
Then one day a prince named Natsume Hyuuga from faraway land came riding up to the castle and the moment the beautiful princess saw him, she knew that this was the man she wanted to marry.
After he had paid his respects to the princess's father, the king, and taken tea with Mikan's mother, the queen, Mikan invited him for a walk. They took a quick turn around at the rose garden, and then she suggested they sit down on a bench near a pond where golden fishes swarm, and occasional frog paused on a lily pad long enough to croak "ribbit, ribbit" at them before leaping back into the cool water. The handsome looked decidedly nervous.
"Err, couldn't we walk just bit farther on?" suggested Natsume timidly.
"But this is my favorite bench in the whole garden," Mikan protested, pouting prettily.
"Very well then," said Natsume, and immediately threw himself at her feet. "You are the most beautiful princess in the whole world and I love you with all my heart. Would you please marry me! It would make me the happiest man in the entire kingdom," he said without pausing for breath, and the words tumbling all over them in the rush. Mikan thought his nervousness very understandable and even rather sweet under the circumstances.
"I thought you'd never ask!" she cried, throwing her arms around his neck and kissed him solidly on the cheeks.
"Oh no don't do that!" shouted Natsume.
