Ask/Prompt: Possessive Itasaku?

The mission was over earlier than anticipated. It took them not more than a day to accomplish the mission, so she allowed herself gaze up, watching the cloudless sky on this summer day. Along with her teammate (whom she had never met before, actually) Sakura reached the gates of Konoha. It startled her, to say the least, that her lover was already waiting for her. The warm wind brushed some strands of his raven hair into his view and she realized, once more, how blessed she was to deserve his love. Her smile grew brighter and unbeknownst to her, her feet carried her faster, until she was there where she belonged; in his arms.

"What are you already doing here? I was supposed to be off for at least 3 days," Sakura grinned brightly at him, standing on the tip of her toes to kiss his lips.

"I expected you to get this down way earlier. Proves how much I know you by now," he smiled.

"You must be Uchiha Itachi," a voice interrupted their moment, "It's a pleasure to meet you, my name is Asao."

Itachi wasn't one to be jealous, usually. He just hadn't seen this man before.

"Sakura indeed is an admirable woman; she's not only clever and talented, but beautiful to look at while fighting, too." Definitely the last was supposed to come off as a joke; Asao surely had recognised the connection between them - had he? While Sakura blushed at his compliments (and flirting, in Itachi's eyes), Itachi demonstratly guided his arm around the kunoichi's hip, pulling her closer.

"Yes. I know what Sakura is capable off," His voice was colder than he'd wanted it to sound, but at least his intimidating character seemed to work on him. Without another word Itachi turned around, his arm never leaving Sakura's hip.

"What was that?" She asked curiously the moment her teammate couldn't hear them,

"What?"

"I thought you weren't the jealous type," she teased.

"In my defence, you left me alone for a whole day,"

"That's not the point, idiot," Sakura laughed, "Say it; you're jealous!"

Itachi huffed at her words, "I am not jealous."

"Yes, you are," she couldn't keep her laughs quiet any longer. Defeated, Itachi sighed.

"Okay look, maybe a little bit, but he was flirting with you!"

"And? Literally every girl here is flirting with you and now there's one guy making compliments and suddenly you're all possessive?" While speaking it out, she laughed wholeheartedly but if she was being honest, it was somewhat cute for him to act like that. Uchiha Itachi was always doing his best to keep up the calm expression, hiding his emotions behind his mask, but now? That had been the first time he'd let his emotion show in public (although it had only been around Asao).

"I am not possessive, Sakura," the Uchiha sighed. Gods, he couldn't wait to be home again. "Yeah, of course you aren't," Sakura chuckled, freeing herself out of his grab to open the door to their shared apartment, "And my hair definitely isn't pink."
