It took her forever to get out of the castle. If her parents knew she was here...Well let's just say that they didn't approve of her seeing him. No, she would have to keep this visit a secret. And the princess always disappeared unexpectedly. They won't think anything different of it. The man in the bed in front of her stirred, but didn't open his eyes. He had been asleep for a while, she had guessed. She had been lucky to even see him. She had to tell the nurse that they were family, even though that wasn't really true.
"Jenna," he said breaking her from her thoughts. "What are you doing here? I thought..."
"I know Peter, but I just had to see you. I was hoping we would be able to talk about..."
"Jenna, we've already talked about this before. You have responsibilities as the new princess. Princess Jenna Heap, you don't want to let everyone down, do you? I have responsibilities also..."
She knew what he meant. He had responsibilities as spider-man being Peter Parker and all.
"So how did you get into the hospital?" she asked mostly to delay the inevitable.
"You know, same old, same old," he said.
The tension in the room was thick. There was silence for what seemed like forever.
"Listen," he started to say, "We can't see each other anymore."
"What? Why?" Jenna said as tears bubbled to the surface of her eyes.
"You've got obligations to take care of and I've got-"
"We can make it work. Even through all of our adversities and trails. We can make it work."
"You don't understand. I like someone else."
She gasped. She felt like she had been slapped in the face. The tears started to pour down her face freely now.
"But-But-But what happened to us? I love you."
He looked her straight in the eyes and without blinking said, "I don't love you."
She ran from his hospital room tears streaming down her face. It was for the best. Her family didn't approve of their relationship and they both had responsibilities and obligations to fulfill. There was nothing else to say. It was for the best or she kept telling herself that.
AN: My brain concocted this up while I was dreaming and this is the exact same thing that happened in my dream. I haven't watched Spiderman in Forever and I haven't read a Septimus Heap book since last year so I don't know it came up with this.
