Korra and Mako made their way towards the door that lead into the rally they needed to infiltrate. Each step echoed in their heads as they moved closer and closer to the man guarding the door. Several paces away from the door a cloaked person sidled up to them and walked with them to the door. The heavy set man looked at the group of three and asked for an invitation.
Korra was confused at the question and expressed it in her repeat of the request of the guard. The cloaked man standing next to them quickly pulled out one of the flyers that were being handed out around town for the rally.
With the flyer presented the guard quickly let the cloaked man in and Mako and Korra finally got the hint about what was needed to pass. They quickly presented their own flyers to the man and passed into the rather large room that housed the gathering.
People from all over Republic City were there. All of them chatting and mingling amongst themselves until the rally started. Korra and Mako searched the entire room with their eyes. All they got in return was the location of the stage and the fact that the room was packed with people, non-benders mostly.
While they continued to search with their eyes a hand landed on Korra's shoulder, nearly setting off her battle instincts. "Hey sorry for not introducing myself earlier but I wanted to get into the area before I chatted with anyone. So you here with your boyfriend? He kinda looks like a stick in the mud kinda guy. By the way, name's Shin. What's yours?" the voice attached to the hand spoke as the cloaked figure from before was revealed to be the one asking the questions.
Korra quickly looked cloaked man in the eyes with annoyance before giving him a once over. Shin stood a little shorter than herself but broader than her. Covered head to toe in blacks and dark reds and his clothes were baggy enough to hide any other characteristics that she could have gleaned from his body type. Shin's eyes analyzed her as she analyzed him.
The black cloth that covered the bottom half of Shin's face shifted indicating he was smiling caught Korra off guard but the truly odd thing was the hug he suddenly gave her.
Right before Korra was about to throw the invader of her personal space off of her Shin whispered something that made her stop. "Don't worry Avatar. I'm not here to kill you today. I'm here for the masked man's head and those that help him so help your friend when I confront the moron."
Shin then released her right as Mako's hand shot out to take hold of the unusual man but his hand was caught in an iron grip. Shin did not release his grip on Mako's wrist as he shook his head in the negative before letting go and moving towards the front of the stage.
"What was all that about," Mako asked being utterly confused about the entire situation between Korra and the mysterious Shin.
