It was hard for her to move. Her body was spent and broken. Olive colored blood clouded her vision and the tears that fell where no help to her either. Pulling her body closer to her moirail was getting harder and harder. Nepeta finally felt the still warm skin brush against her, slowly freezing, hand as she reached out to him. To Equius. To the troll who had been there for her when she needed him. When her lusus was killed and her home taken from her, he was there to comfort her. Always with an overly gentle hug that smelled of sweat and a few kind words. He mended her broken heart when she was far too frightened to tell Karkat her flushed feelings for him and still noticed his flushed feelings for Terezi. They had spent days together at a time, and had snuggled together under warm towels. She hadn't realized until now that they had been meant to be moirails from the very beginning. She hadn't realized until now that she loved him. He had been the only thing she ever needed. But now was too late. He was already gone. All she was left with now was a husk that looked like her moirail. She hobbled her body over Equius, trying to look at his face. He was blue and his eyes were closed. No expression was visible on his soft looking face. Nepeta raised her hand to bat at Equius' face as if it would somehow, wake him up. "Equius…" She muttered through the pain that was welling up in her throat and body. She began to notice the green on his cheeks now. She couldn't tell whether it was blood or tears. She dabbed them off. Finally unable to take the pain of holding herself up anymore, she laid her head on his chest, and gripped his shirt tightly, digging her fingers into the soft fabric of his mate slasher. The ability to feel was nearly gone and her body seemed to be heating up. "Equius…" she cried again. Green was streaming down her face as she cried. Her blood kept flowing and her senses dimed until she could no longer see him or feel him. She started to panic. "Equius..!" She cried harder. Quickly thoughts raced through her mind. She would never be able to see him again. Never be able to play games with him. Hunt for him. Bring him gifts or obsess over ships. Never be able to hug him again. Never be able to smell him or hear his laughter. Never be able to hug him or mess with his hair. He was gone and she was about to die too. She had never even gotten the chance to grow up. Now she'll never fall in love with someone else, never have her first kiss. Never fill a bucket. Never live to get human married like she dreamed she would one day. Worst of all, she wouldn't get to live to say sorry to Equius. Soon her breath slowed and her eyes closed. Her head lulled on Equius' chest and her body had passed. When Nepeta opened her eyes next, she was standing of a soft grassy field. What sounded like a music box was playing far off somewhere. She knew the tune but couldn't quite put a paw on the name or where it was from. A deep voice clearing made her perk up and spin around. What she saw made tears leap from her eyes. Equius sat at a small table under a willow tree, metal tea cup in hand. "Nepeta…" His voice was stern and he was trying his hardest to wear a frown. He looked quite the gentleman in a tuxedo. " I thought I told you to hide…" Nepeta pounced on her spot from the grass and tackled him out of his seat. She landed on his chest, giggling and crying away. "I'm sorry Equius. I couldn't help myself…" Equius placed a hand on her head and a small sat on his face. "I'm here now, its ok. If this was the afterlife, Nepeta would be ok. After all, She had the rest of eternity with him.
