A Psychic Swordfighter's Test

The Smash Mansion, in the front courtyard. Ike was there, staring at the magnificent statue of Gustavo in the Mario hat.

"I fight for my friends, including you, Great Gustavo," he said.

Then Ike felt a cold breeze. He turned around to see the Legendary Boundary Pokémon Kyurem. A voice echoed in the Aether swordsman's mind. It surely has been a while.

Ike was surprised to Kyurem suddenly transforming. In its place was a male Mii with a low ponytail wearing a blue mini top hat and light blue peacoat. Around his neck was a crystal pendant glowing light blue and yellow.

"Hey, Ryu and Villager Cassie told me all about you," Ike said. "You're...Clarence, right?"

"That is my name. I wear my heart proudly on my sleeve," the Mii named Clarence said. "I have a reason why I came here..." He tapped into his crystal pendant's power, enveloping himself in its light. The light fades, and he became a Mii Swordfighter wearing a red mini top hat. "Ike, I wish to test myself against you in a battle between your Aether and my Crystal Sword of Boundaries."

"I would be honored," Ike said. "Let's meet at the Battlefield."

After having lunch, Ike and Clarence met each other again at the Battlefield. As soon as the announcer declared "GO!", the sword fight began. While Ike focused on strength, Clarence focused on speed. They clashed swords with each other.

Meanwhile, Ryu and Villager Cassie arrived to watch the action. They cheered on both of them.

The full two minutes of the battle passed, and even though Ike and Clarence sustained heavy damage, neither one had the chance to knock the other out. So the match segued to Sudden Death. A few seconds later, the Bob-ombs appeared, blasting the Battlefield to knock out either one of the swordsmen. The match didn't last; Ike struck with his Aether while dodging the Bob-ombs, but Clarence struck from behind with a Skyward Slash Dash, knocking Ike off the stage and winning the match.

After the battle, Clarence stacked two Raise spells to cast the Arise spell on Ike, turning the Fire Emblem swordsman from a trophy to a living being. As they left the Battlefield, they met up with Ryu and Villager Cassie.

"Wow, both of you stayed in the fight until the end!" Villager Cassie said. "That's a really rare sight in any match!"

After the foursome spent time with each other in the Smash Mansion, Clarence said, "Well, I had fun here. It is time I returned to my Crystal Island. Come along, Cassie; I will drop you off at Lunavale."

Cold light enveloped the low ponytailed Mii, and when the light faded, Kyurem was there. Villager Cassie hopped on his back. They flew away, leaving Ike and Ryu. Clarence's voice echoed in their minds. Say hello to Gustavo for me.

"We will! Take care, Clarence and Cassie!" Ike said, waving to them. He and Ryu turned to the statue of Gustavo. "We wished you would have been there, our great Brazilian friend..."
