~SAFE~
Jenifer POV.
"Jenifer lets go your plane leaves in hour." Mom yelled up to me
"I'm coming," I took one last look at my room. This is the last time I will be here. You want to know why? It's because I'm moving to La Push Reservation in Washington. It's where my mom's family lives. I'll be living with my uncle Jake and his fiancée Renesenee or Nessie.
I don't know why I'm going, but my mom said to pack my things one day. Now I'm here getting ready to leave the only place I've ever known and my mom behind. She says it's not safe for me here anymore. See my dad is an alcoholic and he of course beats my mom for something he doesn't like: about the clean house, dinner, or any little thing. My dad never hits me, it's always mom.
We are finally at the gate and people are boarding, but I don't want to go. I'm waiting for my section to be called, looking out onto the tarmac.
"Honey I'm doing this to protect you. Don't be sad."
"I don't want anything to happen to you while I'm gone."
"Who's going to help you get into bed and clean up when he hits you to much." I said with tear forming in my eyes.
"Why can't you come -
"You know I can't. I'll be fine, okay? You just worry about your future." She said giving my one last hug as someone calls my section.
"I love you mom," I said hugging her tighter
"I love you too, with all my heart."
JAKE. P.O.V.
"Flight from Hawaii coming in" the loud speaker announced
In just a few minutes I'll be seeing my niece Jenifer. I haven't seen her since she was like eight or nine. I remember my sister calling me last Monday and I thought it was just to talk ,but I was shocked when she asked me of a favor.
~Flash back~
"Hello?"
"Jake, it's Becca"
"Hey, how are you?"
"I'm doing okay..." There was a long silence that followed, just us breathing into the phone.
"So the...reason...I called...is to ask...you something." she stuttered out
"Okay."
"Well...can Jenifer come and stay with you?" Becca said quickly
"Oh she wants to visit." I said smiling
"Actually can... can she live with you?"
"Uh.. I don't know Becca..." I'm so confused why is she asking me this?
"Please Jake. There's no one I know who will keep her safe. Please." She begged.
"Why do you want her to come live with me so bad?"
"Because I want her to be with family"
When I didn't answer, she continued, " Please Jake, this is the only thing I ask of you, to take her in." I heard her broken cry.
"Alright, fine she can come live with me." I sighed out.
~ End of Flashback~
"Uncle Jake" someone said, I turn around and saw a young girl looking up at me with fear in her eyes. She looked just like my sister.
"Jenifer" I said with a smile forming on my face.
