Chapter 1.

Clary POV

I'm not sure if this will make sense to you, but have you ever had your eyes closed to complete darkness and almost felt people watching you, although you couldn't see them you just somewhat knew. Well, if you know the feeling I'm talking about, that's exactly how I felt walking into St. Xavier's my school in the heart of New York. Again I never saw them I just new. Darkness enveloped me as I walked through the large hallways with my cane feeling for anything around me, I wore sunglasses to, to cover up my eyes from people. It was better like that anyway. No one was talking, no one bumped into me to get to first period class, like how it would have been, if I wasn't like this.
I may have lost my sight but my hearing was quite intact, so the whispers that floated around didn't go unheard, Sadly.
My mom practically dragged me out of bed and force fed me just to drop me off at my hell. I mean If it wasn't for that summer night I wouldn't be walking down these halls with a cane, or begging my mom to let me stay home, but then again I guess it was my fault. "Hey Clare" the familiar voice of my best friend said, grabbing onto one of my arms. "Simon" I reply, he brought me down to my locker, but the whispers still followed.

"Do you want me to grab your books?" He asked awkwardly, Simon was still not 100% used to me not being able to see. "It's fine Si I'm not completely useless" I reply, grabbing my books and shutting the locker, I could practically see him blush and run a hand through his mopey brown hair. "Sorry Clare, you know I didn't-"
"I was kidding Si" I let out a forced laugh. Soon we were headed to my first period class which was English. Before I entered the class Simon pulled me to the side. "I'll be here for when you get out OK, Don't let them bother you Clare, they're just stupid" I smile, and I give him a big hug, Simon was my best friend since kindergarten ever since I found him reading a manga comic at break, we've been inseparable. Even after the accident, even after all my friends left me. He was like a big brother to me, "Okay Si" I say. He let go of me and I let my cane guide me through the doors.

Once I entered silence seemed to settle over the students, I was told my seat was the first on the right and that's where I sat only to be greeted by a leg already placed on my chair. I sat up abruptly and I heard two girls snicker. " Can you please move" I say, trying to hide the venom in my voice.
"Oh sorry, I didn't see you" the snickers grew. And I immediately flushed recognizing the voice. "Okay class settle down" I heard the teacher say, and then there was shuffling of feet which indicated she moved them. I sat down and sighed I knew my mother shouldn't have brought me to school.

A/N OK so this isn't long I know, but I just wanted to see if you guys may like this idea. Constructive Criticism is really appreciated too, please tell me in a review if you liked it and if I should continue thanks:)3
