The world is full of people trying to make a connection and trying to find true love. Everywhere, hearts are beating the same rhythm of that which life is all about: finding that special someone to pass away the time with before it all comes to an end.
The chances of actually coming across that person, however common the goal, is not as easy as it sounds. It is, in fact, a rare occurrence in one's life and often arrives unexpectedly.
When Monica found herself walking – or to be more [politically correct, stumbling – up to Joey and Chandler's room, the last thing she was thinking of was love in it's most pure and everlasting form or otherwise. All she wanted was sex, something meaningless. She wanted Joey.
Even after she learnt that Joey was off with a bridesmaid and some strawberries, leaving Chandler, she still only wanted something physical. That Chandler had not been her first choice didn't matter in the slightest. He was male, he was cute and he had all the right parts. What else did she need? She couldn't think of anything.
She knocked on the door and waited.
When Chandler consoled her minutes later and told her and told her she was the most beautiful woman (in the room – in most rooms), her heart stopped beating for a second and she just couldn't help it. She jumped him.
Monica had been with a lot of guys before – not a lot, lot, but quite a few – and she had jumped one or two of them, but this was different. She'd expected it to feel wrong. She was kissing one of her friends, after all. That sort of thing was bound to bring awkwardness.
Nothing had ever felt so right.
It was like they were made for each other in every way. It hit her fast and hard somewhere between the moments their lips met for the second time to when they parted. She and Chandler had a connection that went beyond friendship.
This was meant to be.
