My Dark Haired Beauty

The brightness of the full moon and the countless stars complimented the dark sky of the silent night. Jiang Wei released a sigh as he leaned against a pillar. The past few days there was a certain subject that was constantly pondering the young strategist's mind which he couldn't put finger on it. It was troubling him. It caused him to experience new emotions that he thought wouldn't exist in him. Those new emotions crashed onto him whenever her name was mentioned, his eyes landed on her, and the presence of her in the same room with him. He wanted to know what those new emotions were and the reason behind him possessing those feelings toward her.

Her long, dark hair, from afar, was what captured his attention on the first day he entered the Shu palace and made him curious of who she was. He also described her as the "Dark Haired Beauty". The day she greeted him as a new member of the Shu forces, he was awed by her angelic face. He have seen many attractive women back in his natal town in Wei, but none were an equal to her. Her personality allured Jiang Wei to be drawn by her even more. He noticed he was happy when she was smiling or laughing. Likewise, he became upset and had the willingness to console and comfort her when discovering a frown or teary eyes on her face. Jiang Wei knew, deep down, her existence was the factor that created those new emotions, however why was he feeling this toward her?

Jiang Wei started to scratch the right side of his head. At first, it was the belief that she was an attractive young lady, a mini crush he developed for her, and then his feelings transferred into something more meaningful.

Jiang Wei continued to scratch the right side of his head until his eyes widen. Could this mean that I am experiencing the feelings and emotions of love?

"I am falling in love with Yinping," Jiang Wei whispered to himself.

He closed both of his eyes to sink in this realization. He finally figured out the answer to the troubling subject of his. But does she harbor the same feelings for me?

"Um, Master Jiang Wei. Is there something wrong?" Jiang Wei's eyes immediately opened to the familiar voice he knew too well. His head turned to the direction of the voice. His cheeks blushed at the sight of her. He prayed that the darkness of the night would hide the redness of his cheeks.

"There's nothing wrong. I'm just trying to relax after finishing up some work," he answered falsely, "My lady, what are you up to? The moon is already here."

Guan Yinping smiled back at him in response. That smile triggered Jiang Wei's heart to pound.

"I'm going to check on Red Hare since I haven't visit him in a few days. Do you want to join me?"

Jiang Wei returned the smile. "I would be glad to."

Jiang Wei felt the waves of emotions crashing on to him while keeping a calm face when talking to Yinping as they headed to the horse stalls. He looked at his Dark Haired Beauty and wondered, for the second time, if she would ever harbor the same feelings for him.
