Disclaimer: Uh… I do not own Vocaloid.
Chapter One:
I watched him as he started to dribble the ball down the basketball court. His blue hair was soaked in sweat and he had taken off his coat and t-shirt a long time ago. His chest heaved as he panted. His tongue sneaked out and swept across his dry lips. I gripped the bottom of the bench as he prepared to shoot.
The basketball seemed to have jumped out of his hands and flew above all the other hands that were trying to reach for it. It swished inside the net and he gave out a cheer along with his teammates.
I couldn't stop myself from grinning like an idiot.
As he walked to get his things, I slipped out of the bench seat and started to walk towards the sidewalk.
Everyday, afterschool, he and some of his friends will come out and play hours on end of basketball with all the neighborhood kids. I consider myself as a spectator rather than a player. I won't be able to focus on anything except for him.
And since the small green park bench is a bit far away from the court, I can stare all I want and be sadly mistaken for looking after the ball. It's a win-win situation for everyone.
His coughing (1) laugh tickled my heart as he watched two guys bicker about something. My face heats up a bit and I briskly walk down the court.
"Len-kun!" Someone yelled.
I jerk my head around to the sound.
A redhead guy with a black and red coat tied around his waist was waving wildly at me. I stared back in confusion. I saw his lips mouth inaudible noises and then all the guys around him began to laugh like hyenas.
Except for Kaito, who's now glaring at the redhead…?
Kaito flashes an apologetic glance at me. I return a tight smile and run towards the sidewalk.
Sometimes I think it's better to convince myself that I just really admire him.
A/N:
(1)- How does Kaito's laugh sound like? O.o
Ehh… I'm on my way to becoming an otaku. I don't usually read school life manga so pardon the awkwardness of the suffixes present here.
That's about it :3 Hoped you liked it.
