Hush my child
Bones is curled up in her bed having just finished her report for Booth. Fifteen minutes latter her phone blares with her partners ring tone.
"Booth there must be a good reason for you waking me up." She says rolling over.
"Bones?" She heard the timid voice of Parker who was now 16
"Oh sorry Parker. How are you honey? Why are you up at this hour?" Bones smiled as her squint in training called her.
"Dad hasn't said anything to me since I got here two hours ago. Bones I miss him. And I miss you." His voice was sad and Bones was not happy about it.
"Parker I'm glad you called me. But what do you want me to do about this. I can talk to you now and maybe see you for lunch?" Bones says sitting up knowing she might have to run to his aid.
"Bones can I just come over? I have the money for a bus." Parker says hoping he could run to the arms of his childhood hero.
"Ok Parker I'll make hot chocolate and be carful. Do you still have your key?" Bones asks crawling out of bed.
"Bones a few years ago I put your house key on a chain and I wear it everyday. I've missed you." She could hear his silent tears.
"Ok Parker hurry over. I love you..." Bones was surprised by the words and waits to hear his response.
"I love you too Bones." Parker says dashing out the door.
Half an hour latter a soft knock told Bones her favourite Booth was at her door step.
"Hi Parker." Bones says looking the teen over
"Bones." Parker almost cries as he looks at his mentor.
Bones reaches for him like she did when he was little then stepped back thinking that maybe a teenager didn't want hugs.
Parker watches her and smiles. He went in and hugs his mentor loving the familiarity of having her close.
"Here Parker I made us hot chocolate." Bones pulls away but leaves her arm around his waist.
"Thanks for letting me come over Bones." Parker says taking his cup.
"Parker I'm going to have to call your dad..." Bones says holding her phone.
"But he will want me to go back..." Parker looks down not meeting Bones's loving glance.
"I'll tell him that I have you here and until further notice you are staying here." Bones grins at her partners son
The boy in return lets a huge grin cross his face. He puts his cup down and hugs her again.
"I'll call him." She says dialling his number.
"Look Bones I don't have time to talk right now. Parker is missing." Booths voice came yelling through the phone.
"Booth breathe. I have Parker here. He needed to see me. And until he decides to leave he will be in my care. I wot let you in my house or tell you if I'm leaving. I promise I will keep him safe. Bye Booth. "
"BONES!" Booth yells as his partner clicks his phone shut.
"Ok Parker since I just got your dad mad at me I'm going to call your mom to make sure Booth won't come blasting in here." Bones grins at Parker loving the feeling of power.
"Hey Rebecca it's Dr. Brennan. I just wanted to call and let you know that Parker is safe with me. Booth wasn't talking to him so he called me and wants to stay here. Is that ok?"
"Yeah that sounds great. Take care of him please.." Rebecca says calmly.
"I will take care of him and have him back in time for school."
"Oh Dr. B Parker is out of school for two weeks. If you want to keep him for the two weeks that is fine I'm sure he will love it.
