Journey stood there, staring at the empty space where the TARDIS had stood. She'd lost everything. Sure, there was still Uncle, but her brother had been by her side every step of the way. She'd lost him, and with a chocking sob she fully realized she was never getting him back. And now she had to go back to Uncle and regular life without him. The thought was terrifying, and she just wanted to run away. But she couldn't. Her only route out of here had left her behind because he couldn't stand the thought of taking a soldier with him, even though he so obviously carried the weight of war on his own shoulders.

Five minutes more she stood there, and she could still almost hear the whooshing sound that had accompanied it out. She thought it strange, especially realizing that sound was getting louder... And then it was there again, the blue box, and the Doctor stuck his head out the door, somehow looking like he'd added a couple wrinkles. She stared at him in shock.

He stared right back at her, raising those incredible eyebrows. "Well? Aren't you coming?"

"Y-you said," Journey blustered, utterly confused.

He shrugged. "Changed my mind. Met another soldier, funny enough by the name of Pink. Turns out they're not all bad."

She furrowed her brow. "But... You just left."

The Doctor rolled his eyes. "Don't be an idiot. It's a time machine."

"Right, of course," she said, nodding, "Sorry."

"S'okay," he said, smiling a little as he opened the door wider and stretched his arm to usher her in, "C'mon then, before I change my mind again."

Journey grinned and stepped inside the TARDIS, looking around in awe. She hadn't had the time or desire last time to check it out, so it almost felt like the first time, taking it all in as the Doctor moved around the console, flipping switches and pushing buttons to take them away.

After they were safely in the time vortex, the Doctor leaned against the console, looking rather smug at having produced such awe in the woman before him. "All of time and space. Where would you like to go?"
