Authors note: This is probably going to be a story with several chapters. This first chapter is short and I haven't written more yet, but I promise that more will come, when I have figured out what the hell I'm going to write about … What I do know is that Sherlock and Molly romance will happen, apart from that, we'll see where this story is taking us.
Diagnoses and love?
Been re-watching the second episode of Sherlock today. I have also read some about what psychologists have to say about diagnoses of Sherlock. My research about this subject has made me come to a conclusion that Sherlock probably isn't a sociopath or a psychopath. He just don't care about things that aren't important for him – like sex and social rules. But he does feel things, Irene Adler made him nervous and Cumberbatch has said in interviews that Sherlock and Irene slept together. I am pretty convinced that he is not gay, Watson is definitely not gay. When there is gay references I believe the reason why Sherlock don't correct it is because he don't care what other people think, that doesn't mean he's gay. Also, I'm not sure if he is feeling something for Molly, sometimes there is moments that gives me hope, but I'm not convinced. Maybe Sherlock Holmes just aren't interested in those kind of things, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle wrote him as an workaholic. But the interesting thing about the BBC version is that Molly isn't an original character and maybe it could be interesting if Sherlock in modern time faced romantic feelings towards someone? Well, at least I have hope for the possibility, until then (if it happens …) I can write fanfiction about it.
It happens in the lab
"Just saving her the time, isn't that kinder?"
"Kinder? No, no Sherlock, that wasn't kind."
Sherlock just stared back clueless. Why it wasn't it kind? He had just saved her from having a relationship with someone who is gay. Molly could now end things before she started to have feeling for him and save herself from getting hurt. What wasn't kind about that? What is wrong with people? Sherlock just couldn't understand all these social rules and what you can say and not say, it was stupid and waste of time. He shrugged and went back to work. Sherlock Holmes had more important things to care about.
The door flow open.
"Sherlock Holmes!" He didn't answer, he didn't even move, just kept staring into the microscope. "I am talking to you Sherlock, for once can you maybe listen to me."
Molly was furious, her eyes burning and her pale face blushed.
"Molly, I am working."
"Ey shut up you idiot!"
This actually made Sherlock glance up and he frowned when he saw Molly's furious face. Then he seemed to come to an conclusion, he pushed back the chair and stood up. He walked in Molly's direction and stopped just in front of her, a little bit too close.
"I'm listening."
Molly sighed, the fury seemed to vanish.
"Sherlock, I can't think when you are standing this close."
"Why?"
"You know why."
"No, I don't know why."
This made John groan. Molly and Sherlock glanced over at him. Both had forgot that he was in the room.
"Of course you know Sherlock, you aren't complete clueless of your surroundings."
"Actually, I don't know what you too are talking about."
"Come an, she have feelings for you and you keep treating her as crap."
"I don't treat her as crap!"
"Yes you do," said Molly quietly and Sherlock looked at her. Tried to read what she was thinking. Her eyes filled with tears and somewhere, deep inside him, he felt something.
"I do?"
"Yes."
John left the room, neither of them noticed him as he did.
Sherlock was deep in thoughts, his eyes still fixed at Molly's.
"I'm sorry Molly, please forgive me," he said after a while.
"I'm not sure I can forgive you Sherlock," said Molly and tears streamed down her face. "Not now, I just can't."
"Please."
Molly had never heard him beg before.
"Never beg a guy for his love, my mother once told me and look at me. I am begging, every freaking time we meet, I beg you. Always this hope that you someday will see me different. But it's not going to happen is it?"
Sherlock didn't answer. He tried to understand what she was saying. Understand the meaning behind her words.
"I see myself married to my work. Emotions are a distraction I can't afford."
"I know."
Molly gave him a half smile and then she left the room. Sherlock Holmes were left alone and with a feeling he couldn't quite describe …
