A/N: Hello! This is my first venture into the Po5 fandom! I love the books and I have always wanted to write something for the fandom, so here it is! This is just Richards thoughts in Ravens Gate when he and Matt jump into the river underneath omega one. "Just hold on" Richard felt numb. He had pushed that foul woman into acid. Ok, she was an evil witch who had tried to kill him, Matt and destroy the whole world but she was still a human. With a beating heart and feelings... and he had killed her. No worse he had dissolved her, pushed her into acid. The raging torrents of the stream rushing past was cold and ferocious, threatening to pull both him and Matt under. Matt. The boy was amazing. He had saved Richard's life even being practical strangers and he had awesome, freaky, weird telekinetic powers. Something Richard had never believed in until he had seen the boy stop a knife, explode Richard's and his own restraints and then lead them half way through a flipping nuclear power plant that he had never seen before. It was actually sort of scary seeing how the boy had gone into a complete power trance. Suddenly, Matt buried his head wearily into Richard's shoulder, effectively silencing Richard's confused thoughts. Matt had his eyes closed and looked half dead. Richard tightened his hold on the boy, making sure he was secure and comfortable. Matt looked so child like and defenceless, just like a scared kid who had seen and experienced far too much,that Richard knew that from here on out he would do his best to protect this boy. He wouldn't throw him out or say that he didn't believe him. He would listen and protect him. They were going to stay together, because that is what brothers do, and after all the crazy s**t that had happened the past few days, Matt was most definitely Richard's younger brother.
