"So, Jack, is it true that you like to sleep alone, or is that what you just tell everyone?" Sawyer drawled into the phone. He waited for the other man to respond, but was met with silence. "Saint Jack, harboring a fugitive," he teased.
There was a sound like a hand cupping a phone and muddled voices. Her voice. Sawyer hadn't heard her voice since they landed in LAX and she took him hostage. Sawyer thought she'd go on the run with him.
"Hang up, Jack," Kate instructed gently.
The dial tone met him like a punch. He was wrong.
