Loss
Sam doesn't like to think about the day he'll lose Bumblebee.
He doesn't like to face the facts that he is human, and as much as he wishes, he will not be around forever. He will not have Bumblebee's guidance, nor his humour to keep him happy in the world, forever. One of them has to leave, and Sam knows it has to be him. Logically, it will be him, and there is nothing they can do.
Sam dreams sometimes, about becoming a fellow Autobot, about staying with Bumblebee for eternity and keeping his best friend - lover - with him until their sparks grow tired, or they die in war. Sam has yet to see an Autobot - or Decepticon - die of "old age". He knows that Bumblebee will not any time soon.
As Sam curls into Bumblebee's holographic side he feels the familiar warmth of Bumblebee's arms and tries to hold back the tears that so desperately need to escape. He clutches onto Bumblebee and sobs silently against him, and does not notice blue eyes staring down at him. Bumblebee wraps his arms closer around Sam and hauls him up to sit on his lap. The Autobot sits against the headboard and caresses Sam's hair slowly.
"What's wrong, Sam?" He whispers and Sam shakes his head desperately, clinging to Bumblebee and hiding his face within Bumblebee's tanned neck. Bumblebee only pets him and allows Sam's body to hunch against him; his sad smile hides against Sam's hair. "Come on, Samuel," he says, kissing the crown of Sam's head. "What's wrong?"
Sam hiccups and hides closer into Bumblebee, attempting to stop his tears but he can just smell Bumblebee; only cling tighter so he doesn't lose that smell. He bites and kisses at Bumblebee's neck and crawls closer onto his lap, straddling his best friend; making up for Bumblebee's loss.
"I love you Bumblebee," he hiccups and Bumblebee nods, confused.
"I know Sam," he responds softly and Sam shakes his head, dropping it against Bumblebee's shoulder as 'Bee's fingers find his hair again. "I love you too."
Sam doesn't respond - can't - as Bumblebee trails kisses up his neck and ear and Sam just tries to hold back his desperate sobs, and tries to stop clinging to the Autobot, but he can't. He wants to selfishly take Bumblebee with him, he wants Bumblebee to come with him when he dies. He wants Bumblebee to die with him; and he doesn't know, that witch each passing day, Bumblebee will.
