Seven awoke from regenerating feeling odd.
The Doctor came to her mind so she decided to visit sickbay straight away. Walking there she tried to remember a dream, one of those dreams that you were sure you had and were sure had had some sort of profound effect on you - however you can recall nothing of it.
She wondered if this was a malfunction although she knew really it was not.
She felt odd.
The Doctor. She'd had a dream about him, yes she felt that was true hmm and he was talking. His deep slightly comical - yet warm, voice spoke to her about...hmmm she recalled the sound and she recalled the feeling. Oh.
Seven stopped dead in the corridor.
" Eep!" A crew member eloquently uttered, as he walked straight into the Borg lady. Before Seven could turn around and apologise the crew member squeaked. " So sorry, should have looked where I was going." And scampered off.
She raised an eyebrow and pondered.
No. She thought. No. No. No.
Seven collected herself. Maybe she would be best going somewhere else. She expected she was urgently needed in engineering.
" Seven could you please go to Sickbay." Called the Doctor on the intercom.
The tall Borg Amazon suddenly felt a little wobbly in the knees. Definitely coming down with some sort of evil virus she was certain, well almost.
" Yes Doctor." Intoned Seven in her cool collective way as she strode into Sickbay.
The Doctor smiled.
" Ah Seven, I have an antidote. I thought you would want to be the first to try it."
" An antidote? But ? An antidote." She repeated. Then, quickly realising the alien plant they had been cultivating when Seven had wanted help with her new horticulture hobby she recovered herself.
" Oh, the antidote!" She replied. The latest plant had been suffering from an infestation that was especially virulent, and they had kept it in sickbay for observation. (Janeway had insisted, just in case.)
A little too relieved that he hadn't been talking about an antidote to her warm wobbly feelings she mused then frowned as she tried to stop her traitorous brain from becoming entrenched in ridiculous irrelevant romantic - oh no, not roma..she stopped thinking of that word. Seven administered the dose. The Doctor frowned quizzically at her. She blushed and looked away.
The Doctor stared at her with wide eyes, what on earth? He wondered.
Seven looked at the Doctor. Their hands brushed as she handed back the hypo spay. The Doctor looked into her eyes and couldn't believe what he was seeing and he couldn't look away.
Seven knees wobbled, they threatened to give way. So for support she clasped the Doctor.
" Oh Seven." Said the Doctor as he returned the hug.
They drew apart slightly and he touched her face. She copied his gesture, surprised at how human to the touch he was. She slid her fingers down and across his face to his lips. He closed his eyes and they kissed.
