SECOND PASSION
AUTHOR'S NOTE
This is a little something that I had wanted to add in one of my HISB episodes but it just never fit into a full story, so I decided to make an interlude out of it. Takes place after "A Ranger Katastrophe Pt 2". Power Rangers belongs to Haim Saban and Nickelodeon. I only own the plot.
Jason glanced over at Katherine who was getting some books from her locker. Well, here goes nothing, he thought to himself and then gathered up his books and walked over to the girl.
"Hey, Kat," he greeted and she turned to him.
"Oh, hey!" she responded enthusiastically. "I didn't see you there. Have you been trying to get my attention long?" she continued.
"Nope. Just came up," he assured. He blew out a breath. "Hey, uh, I was wondering, would you like to go out this Friday? It probably be anything fancy, but we'd have a good time," he told her. She started to say that she'd love to go, but remembered she had a previous engagement. Ah, darn, she thought.
"Well, normally, I'd say 'Yes', but my parents and I are going to see a ballet of Sleeping Beauty that day," she answered.
"That's okay," he assured.
"Maybe some other time? What do you guys call it…a 'rain check'?" she asked.
"Yeah. A rain check will be fine," he told her. Then, "So you're into ballet?"
"Yeah. Next to diving, it's my favorite thing to do."
"Wow. My mom took me to one when I was younger, but from what she says, I didn't stay still very long and nearly got us kicked out." Katherine laughed.
"Yeah, it's not for everyone." Just then, the warning bell rang.
"Can I carry your books for you?"
"Sure." Katherine handed Jason her books and they walked off.

I don't know if people who live in Australia use the phrase "rain check" so I have Kat being unsure of the phrase. If they do use the phrase, let me know and I'll change it.
