An/ Ive been the preview clip for ep 12 of Legend of Korra, but I wrote this before that.
Feelings
Boom!
The explosion had happened minutes ad it had been hard to escape. The building was smoking and bodies lay under rubble on the ground. Korra moved first she hadn't even had time to bend to protect herself from the explosion and she looked at the Korra before her.
There was Varrick laying on the ground face down unmoving at first but he coughed for a moment from the dust that had entered his lungs, his ears rang he felt disorientated by the explosion/ It had been a big explosion and h looked around him with wide eyes, Zhu Li had been beside him he had tried to protect her from the explosion. However she was no beneath him he panicked and searched for her and saw her only a few feet from him. She lay unmoving unconscious and she was trapped under rubble and he crawled toward her in a panic and tried to pull the rubble off of her.
"Zhu li, Zhu li!" He cried out
He got the rubble in his hands and tried to move it the best he could. True he didn't have much strength bit the surge of new strength ran though him and that did wonders for a man like him.
The rubble came lose and he spotted Korra helping others out rubble. He went back to focusing on Zhu Li who he now pulled out of the rubble and checked to see if she was still breathing, thankfully she was still breathing, but she looked badly hurt.
"Zhu Li wake up!" He begged as his voice broke
She opened her green eyes and coughed, she moved little moaning in pain.
"Thank the spirits your all right.
She coughed and felt his hand on her face, the look of concern she had seen that look before for a moment on the train.
"Varrick?" She said lowly
"I was so worried."
"No you weren't, you care nothing for me." She said strongly
She sat up now and coughed again.
"What makes you say that.?" He asked confused
She get angry at him and shoved his hand off her face.
"Maybe it's because when I told you how you meant the world for me you replied ' Be a good assistant and man the assembly line."
He blinked and looked down and worked out what he had done wrong and worked out why she was so angry at him.
"That not how you should react when someone tells you that. Do you even understand how much it hurt me when you did that."
He sighed as he guessed he had wounded her feelings, but he had panicked when she said all that her. He knew had panicked on the train as well, he was a coward and he accepted that long ago, he had no courage to show Zhu Li he cared for her, the words never came to him either.
"I'm.. sorry..." It all he could think to say " For everything, I was taken aback, I just..."
She looked at him now and put her head down upset.
"Why can't you see how I feel about you? Why do I have to spell it out to you."
He looked at her now, he was the stupidest genius in the world.
"I love you."
He tried to move but found it hard, he heard her words and and panicked again trying to work out his feelings.
"Zhi li." He began "I'm scared, I don't want to lose you again.. I don't want to mess up this more than what I already have. I missed you so much and wanted you by my side again." He confessed "When I thin of you my heart skips, my mind goes blank and I do and say stupid things."
She held his face now smiling.
"So you do care then, that all I ever wanted to hear from you." She kissed him and his eye grew wide and her grabbed her should gently.
"You wont lose me as long as you treat me as your equal, show me care then you wont lose me, don't and you'll pay." She said nipping his cheek playfully
"I've got it." He said brightly "Maybe someday I will be man enough to tell you my true feelings."
She saw Kora had helped everyone now.
"I look forward to it, for now lets focus on stopping that monster together."
She helped him up and supported him in her hands.
"Yeah lets do the thing."
