Of course, the next day was Saturday, which meant we were performing in concert and marching band. First, we had breakfast at the hotel, in which I interacted with Sarah, James, and Henri. "Are you guys nervous or excited about performing in front of a group of people?" I asked my friends. "I guess we know our music pretty well," Sarah then replied. "Yeah," James agreed. "We practice a lot." "That's what my mom told me," I then remembered to myself. "Out of curiosity, Henri, did you try out or not?" I then asked. "Nope," Henri replied. "I'm not a very good drum major. Sarah and James are better." "Face it, Henri," I told him. "Sarah and James always practice band music in their spare time." I then bit into my waffle, and asked after I ate, "Don't you, guys?" "Yes, we do, Angel," Sarah replied. "That's right," James agreed. We then took the bus to a middle school in Baltimore, where Mr. Beresik announced the songs we were doing. "I would like to thank everyone for coming to our concert this Saturday morning," Mr. Beresik then announced. "We will perform our 3 selections: Olympiada, La Bamba de Vera Cruz, and Bayou Breakdown." We all played our songs beautifully. Then, we saw the jazz band perform their music: "I Mean You," "Bemsha Swing," and "Theme from Channel One Suite." Carly Shay, the drill team captain, played clarinet in the concert band, while Alex Russo, Justin Evans, and Max Greenwald, 3 other band members, were all in the jazz band: Alex on alto sax and Justin and Max on trumpet. Finally, we performed our marching band hit single, "Moves Like Jagger," from our Maroon 5 marching band show back in the fall. It was a shame we did not perform "Makes Me Wonder" for the parade, because I have always loved that song ever since I was 13. But it was a band front feature, so what could you do about it? I played my cymbals perfectly and kept my eyes on Sarah because she stood right in front of the drumline, while James stood all the way at the front of the marching band, behind Mr. Beresik and the honor guard. After the parade was over, we took a group photo in the bleachers before heading over to Six Flags.
