Sometimes, you think you know a person you actually have no knowledge about. You spend your whole life thinking you've got them all figured out, and then you find that you never actually knew the person at all. You feel betrayed. So watch out, if you think you know Alison DiLaurentis. She is the queen of betrayal.
Chapter One:
Alison DiLaurentis had everything. The looks, the charm, and a clique that would defend her to the death. She was practically perfect in every way-a Mary Sue, if you will. All these things helped Ali become Rosewood Day School in Rosewood, Pennsylvania's It Girl. But, to rule with an iron fist, you also had to be a cunning bitch. Which meant ruining lives for sport, and knowing everything about everyone. Perhaps that's why someone wanted Ali out of the picture.
Alison walked down Rosewood Day's hall on a warm April Monday feeling like royalty. Her new Jimmy Choo's shined, and she wore them proudly (even though they were giving her major blisters,) and she had her friends walking behind her like royal servants. Spencer Hastings, Emily Fields, Aria Montgomery, and Hanna Marin were D-listers before Ali turned them into her best friends in 6th grade. Nobody ever knew why, exactly, Alison had chosen them to be her new friends so suddenly, but no one ever questioned it, because she was Alison DiLaurentis, Rosewood's own Adolescent idol. Hanna flicked her blonde hair out of her chubby face as she whispered to Ali, "Look at Shawn Akward, you can totally see his abs through his shirt." Hanna had had a crush on Shawn for as long as any of them could remember. "Hanna, Shawn is a prepubescent 7th grade boy, he has no abs." Hanna looked at Ali strangely. "Last week you said Shawn was your type, remember?" Ali rolled her eyes at Hanna. "Yeah, well now I'm into older, more mature guys." Alison explained to Hanna as if it were a well known fact. "Oh, please, Ali," Spencer snickered from behind them, "having a crush on Channing Tatum is not being 'into more mature guys.'" Spencer was the only one who really, well, challenged Alison. Aria's icy blue eyes widened as if Spencer had just cursed out the President of the United States. Ali whipped her head around to face Spencer and glared at her. "Actually, Spencer, I'm currently in a relationship with a high schooler." Emily looked like she had just swallowed something sour. "Really? Who?!" Hanna questioned excitedly. She was always one to love some good gossip. "That's top secret information." She winked at the confused girls. "You guys," Aria whispered as the girls continued walking, and made a gesture to where a girl with big sun glasses and a cane was sitting on a bench. They all stopped suddenly. "I thought Jenna was supposed to be going to a school for the blind in Boston." Emily said nervously. "Chill out, girls, it's not like she can see us. And she doesn't even know what happened that night." Alison explained nonchalantly. "She thinks Toby did it. And even if she did happen to get suspicious, we play it cool. The freak will never know we blinded her."
