First fanfic. Please don't flame too hard. Reviews are welcome! And I'm sorry it's so short.

Tick, tick, tick. The constant ticking of the clock was starting to annoy Artemis, but he just sat there...and waited. This was his last chance. Because the moment that clock struck 12, his plan would proceed...his last and final plan. The great Artemis Fowl would be gone, dead by his own hand. You could call him paranoid I guess, maybe even depressed, but in all truth he was slowly going insane. Death was inevitable. It seems like Holly Short's death took more of a toll on him than anyone knew.

Tick, tick tick. Oh look. It's 11:59. One more minute and death will take hold of him, the minute seemed to take forever to pass. He would stop to think about what he was planning to do if it wasn't for the voices in his head telling him to do it. Artemis allowed a bitter chuckle to pass by his dry lips as the clock struck 12. Artemis brought the knife up to his chest, right where his heart is. He hesitated for a split second before plunging the knife in his chest. It was a fatal wound for sure, there was no hope to save him. Nothing could save him from himself. Artemis fell to the floor with a loud thump, as blood started to puddle around him. He had about a minute before he would be dead. Not much time to say goodbye. He was sure Butler would be here soon, wondering what the thump was.

"Good bye Domovoi, old friend. You will no longer have to worry about me."

"I will miss you mother. Please take good care of the family, and do not mourn too much over my death."

"And good bye Holly, you were a good friend who helped me when I needed it, and I will always mourn over your death, even in my own."

Artemis smiled weakly as he heard Butler racing up the stairs, as the darkness slowly started to consume his entire being. His last rational thought was, "Oh insanity, how I will miss thee."

Then everything went black.
