Shadow

"It's a shame, don't you think, Noctis? Watching people die around you, and...there's nothing that you can do." Noctis glared daggers at this..fiend standing before him, "What do you want from me?" He asked demandingly. She stared at him, laughing with such cruelty, "You know exactly what I want, Noctis Caelum, I want to see you suffer."

Prologue

Death.

That's all Noctis smelt in the air that made him gag with disgust, feeling a burning sensation of confusion and anger welling up inside of him, gnawing at the depths of his very soul.

He smelt it everywhere he went, no matter what he did, no matter where he went, it always seemed to linger stinging his nostrils, as if...the stench was playing a game of tag with him.

But Noctis always waved this off, feeling as if his mind was playing tricks on him.

Although, this was different.

Something felt wrong in the castle he was standing in, it was deathly quiet which kept him on edge passing every hallway and door he came across feeling that a monster would jump out of thin air, pouncing on it's prey tearing it into pieces.

Maybe it wasn't a monster he was afraid of?

It might be a specific person.

'No, No, don't fret yourself over something so bizzare and fake, I'm...just not feeling myself today.' He reassured himself, but there was a hint of hesitating.

He briskly walked through the castle not daring to look, not even glance behind him, Noctis kept on walking trying to get to his chambers.

BOOM.

Noctis practically jumped out of his skin getting ready to break off into a sprint, but realized it was only thunder that almost gave him a heart attack.

"You just need to calm yourself down, take deep breaths,"

BA-BOOM.

He jerked and spun around, seeing a figure standing ten feet away from him, gleaming in the light caused by the lightning, but it quickly faded away once it went pitch black again.

Now, he was about to have a heart attack, "It's not real, it's not real..." He repeated to himself, pacing down the halls making a right turn, coming face to face with a person, "Oh Noctis, I'm real, and you better believe it."

He bursted up from his bed, hardly being able to breathe, "It...it was just a nightmare..." Noctis told himself, shaking uncontrollably.

Or it might be something more then a nightmare.

Ok, so this just randomly popped into my heard today, so I thought I might as well give it a try (Usually when I have story ideas, it doesn't go too far), anddddd, I think I did OK, I'm hoping to keep this story going on for a while ^_^ Soooo, I hope you enjoyed the prologue, there will eventually be more to come when I'm in the mood.
