Still trying to understand Karev's new attitude and after the not-so-helpful talk with Meredith, Arizona walks through the halls in search of the person she knows will have some answers to her worries, her wife.
She smiles as she spots Callie in a patient room explaining the procedure but frowns when she realizes he's looking through his bag and ignoring Callie.
The frown turns into protectiveness seeing him hold something out that makes Callie put both her hands up. As she tries to make out what it is, Gary Clark, the accident and the sink hole Callie offered to jump into flash through her mind, making her quicken her paceā¦. No one threatens her Calliope.
As Arizona moves, Callie sends her a look full of fear, worry but also silently telling to not come closer. Arizona is torn and almost obeys but the thought of raising Sofia alone and living without Calliope cause her to keep moving, only stopping when she receives another look asking for her trust and watching Callie lower her arms.
The situation with Karev long forgotten, Arizona stares amazed thinking how her beautiful Callie went from excited about the surgery to fearful and protective, and now is calm, reassuring with a smile on her face.
That same smile tells Arizona everything is okay but still maintains her ground near the door and waits to find out what was that about.
