A/N: I just felt like writing this, I'm not quite sure why.

For that minute, he hated him. Hated how effing weak he was, not having his own opinion, just following the group like a lemming. Hated him for his secret friendly smiles and never saying it out loud in front of the others, just letting them constantly pull this crap. And his Mum wondered why he kept skipping PE? It was bad enough that he felt like this in the first place, let alone having the guy he liked join in. Though… if he didn't like him, he might not be in this stupid situation. He might not have crap written all through his books. If he didn't feel like this, he might be more liked in school. Then he'd be one of the crowd. Maybe. Except… he knew that Ste liked him… at least as something… he had his suspicions. And somehow, Jamie always managed to forget after a few minutes that Ste had been part of the horrible incidents. He was just as much a victim here as Jamie was. Except Jamie was the one who was excluded, who they suspected, who they hated. Surely he'd do the same thing if he were in Ste's place… maybe. It just wasn't fair. He'd picked up his bag from where it had been flung, and just ran. He tried not to cry. Hey, he was winning here, he was away while they had to play football. But it hurt how Ste had joined in. Even though he could see why he'd do it. The whole thing fucking hurt.

But, he just couldn't hate him for more than a minute.
