At some point during the night Dean managed to talk Castiel into going up on the roof of the shity motel they decided to stay in. Dean has one of his arms draped over the other mans shoulders. He loves that Cas lets him do this, but he would never admit it. They've been sitting silently for hours watching the sun rise up from behind the grey clouds. Dean shivers as the early morning air hits his bare arms.

"Are you cold?", Castiel breathes into his neck.

He doesn't have time to answer before Cas is pulling off his trench coat and laying it over the two of them. Dean smiles a little. His angel is always there for him. He doesn't need to say a word for Cas to know how grateful he his.

"Your welcome.", Castiel says.

Dean's not sure why he does it, he blames it on being tired, but really it's probably more because of how adorable Cas looks with wind blown hair and cheeks pink because of the cold, when he interlocks their fingers and squeezes the angels hand. He's glad when the other man doesn't pull away. They sit and watch the sunrise together, Castiel resting his head against the taller mans firm chest, listening to his heartbeat. Once the sun is up Cas looks up at Dean.

"I have to go.", He says before touching their lips together softly.

Dean responds to the kiss and slowly it becomes deeper. Dean has his long fingers wound into Castiel's tangled hair, and Cas's hands are gripping at the fabric of Dean's navy blue shirt. Dean's tongue explores every inch of the angels mouth and he can't think of anything that could make this moment more perfect. When the pull apart there's a thin trail of saliva connecting them, so Dean pecks the others red lips one last time to disconnect it.

"I'll see you soon?", Dean asks.

Cas just nods, and moments later he's gone. Dean is still smiling when Sam wakes up hours later.
