Author's Note::
I probably should have used an English title, but I felt that ancient Latin would give this fan-fic more meaning. If anyone is curious and/or doesn't know, the title is "In Memory of History" in English. So this whole fic is going to be a collaboration of the Hetalia characters writing letters to one another throughout the ages and are filled with their emotions and honest opinions. There's a catch to this series though… the letters either got lost in the mail, were destroyed, or the characters decided against sending them. Ready to begin the first letter? Then let's start!

Disclaimer::
Hetalia belongs to Hidekazu Himaruya.

Letter One :: 04, July 1776
Arthur-no… Great Britain,

My government just wrote a declaration of our independence. By our, I mean my people and I. Since we first met each other, you always left me behind in your shadows and seemed to push me away. Now that I'm older, you don't respect me or the potential of my people. Ever since the war we fought against France about thirteen years ago, I began to realize that you're not as big as you make yourself to be. Because you lost that war you also think it's right to punish me by taxing my people. Whenever we tried to get you to knock it off with all of your ridiculous acts, you ignored us or tried to throw another act at us. Is it really a surprise that it would eventually come to this?

You believe that you're so high and mighty and that nothing you do has consequences. My people deserve better than you. I deserve better than you. That's why I refuse to be your brother anymore. After you receive this letter, consider us no longer family.

-The United States of America

Ending Note::
Alrighty guys, time to hear some US history from me. After the British and Americans lost a war known as the French and Indian War, to the Americans, the British began to tax the colonies. Thinking that it was unfair and etc, the colonies refused to what the empire wanted. These ideas and certain events lead into what America calls the Revolutionary War.

It's been a long time since I had to remember anything about US history. If I got anything wrong, please let me know and I'll do my best to correct it. I'm also aware that the British have their own point view of the war, but this letter was written from America's point view so this little history lesson will stick to what Americans learn in their schools. Thank you guys for reading, see you again in the next letter~.
