Colors of the Wind Parody- Filter What You Say
You think I'm an ignorant child
And you have lived so long I guess it must be true
But still I cannot see if the child one is me
How can there be so much you cannot see?
That you can't see
You think you own whatever land you land on
You can speak what you think is true
But I know every word has a purpose
It can hurt, it can help, or it can maim
You think the only words that can hurt you
Are the words that speak true
But I know every word can hurt
Even if they were things that weren't true
Have you ever let the words tear you down
Or let them cloud who you are?
Can you see through the false truths all around you?
Can you brush them off before they fall?
Can you brush them off before they fall?
Come run through words you didn't mean
Or times you wish you could forget
Let the words roll over your tongue
And for once wonder how they could hurt
My pencil and my paper are my brothers
My words and thoughts my friends
And we are all connected to each other
In a circle, in a hoop that never ends
How happy can you make someone feel?
If you never try, you will never know
And you'll never see the grin on someone's face
When they realize what you say is true
We need to speak with as much sincerity as we can
And we need to recognize the false truths
You can say what you wanna say and all you have is words until
You can spot the false truths all around you
And you can filter what you say
