Her Heart Only Beats For Him

Once where metal struck was now a sharp excruciating pain. She wobbled her way, passing many people but she pushed on, for her celestial keys and...for him. She fell to her knees but aided to her feet by worrying pedestrians. Every time she took a breath a burning feeling flourished from her chest but she had to do it. Her vision was fading rapidly but she blinked countless times and rubbed her eyes furiously to see properly, Her feet were stalling, her arms kept locking up, it was as like she was a robot that hadn't been oiled for so long. But even though going through all this she was still determined to get to the guild.

Finally after long last through her slightly blotched vision she saw the words 'Fairy Tail'. She limped up to the big doors, her chest searing with pain, her joints seizing up but she still pushed on.

The doors were open, she inhaled smiled and yelled as loud as she could, "NATSU, I LOVE YOU." Natsu turned round happy because this gave him a chance to tell her how he felt while the rest of the guild speaking about how things might change. He yelled back, "LUCY, I..." He stopped in mid-sentence, his happy demeanour collapsed as she fell to the ground. As he ran to her the guild started panicking but only on thing was on his mind, 'Lucy'.

She was roused by Natsu, just buy opening her eyes Natsu smiled until her next words came out.

"Ne, Natsu, why is it dark?" He clenched his fist knowing it was only 1pm, he gave her an answer.

"That is because the guild lights are off." Everyone kept quiet to keep up appearances and to gather their thoughts.

"Why are the lights off?"

"They celebrated our feelings."

"So you...love me back?"

"Yep Luce." He could feel his eyes threatening to cry.

"Will you hold me forever?"

"Yep and we'll have a purple wedding, 'cause I like red and you like blue. We'll have a house in the woods and it'll be big but homey and..."

Lucy's eyes drifted a close. Still listening to Natsu's rambling about how their life would be like.

He knew she was gone. He knew it but he continued to ramble on about how there would be, how their life could have been.

"...and we would be buried in the same place together always, looking over the guild and our family. Wouldn't you like that, Luce?" He could feel his voice threatening to break during his speech, he had already gave up holding back the tears.

He held her tight, feeling the heat in her body slipping away.

It took forever to peel Natsu away from her body.

Natsu stared out the window as he remember her last words, 'My heart beats only for you.'
