Hey guys, welcome to my fanfic! This is my version of season four of Winx Club, because I didn't like how it ended. It is based on the idea that the wizards are good people. By the way, Nabu and Duman don't die in my version, so don't ask. In no way shape or form do I own Winx Club, and I am not associated with it at all. All rights go to Iginio Straffi. Enjoy this thing I have laid before you.
Tap, tap, tap
The wizards' footsteps echoed around the ice and stone of the Omega Dimension. No more than two hours ago they were at the castle of the Earth Fairies, patiently awaiting their judgment at the hands of the Queen of the Fairies, when their true intentions were revealed. As soon as Morgana touched the Black Circle, their most prized and deadly artifact, a vortex to Oblivion opened with the intent of drawing every last fairy into its depths. They hoped would wipe the species from the multiverse. As the four wizards ran for their lives, their thoughts wandered back to the time leading up to their treachery.
Nabu and the Specialists stood in their Gardenia apartment, gazing over a screaming wizard with worry in their eyes. Duman was lying on a bed and writhing in pain, twitching and crying out in agony. The Winx and Duman's friends were in Tir Nan Og, ready for their judgement without their comrade. They knew he was in no shape to face the queen, and so the Specialists brought him to their temporary home in hopes of curing him of his ailment.
"Wait, I think I got it!" Nabu leaned over the man who thrashed and shrieked on the bed. "Somehow he's short-circuited his powers! I know just the spell to fix this." He ran to the bookshelf, picked up an ancient looking text, and uttered a few words in the aboriginal troll language of his home planet while his fingers glowed purple. Much to everyone's delight, Duman slowly calmed down to the point of deep breathing and drowsiness. Nabu had recited a spell he learned from the Wave Wizards on his home planet of Andros. He smiled and shut the book.
"There! Are you feeling better, Duman?" he inquired. Duman took a few deep breaths before sighing.
"I am, actually," he said weakly as his eyes fluttered open. "Thank you for helping me. I thought I was a goner." He sat up slowly with his hand on his stomach. His muscles were sore from flailing around in pain. "We should probably go to the Castle, the others are sure to be waiting." Of course he knew of the spell on the Circle, and he couldn't wait to retake his place with his brothers as they watched the fairies disappear into nothingness.
"You're probably right, but I think you should take it easy. You're still a bit drained from your illness," Helia said, putting a caring hand on the older man's shoulder and helping him stand.
"Nabu, you're amazing! Sibilla couldn't even cure him!" Riven said, very proud of his best friend. "Remind me of your talents next time Brandon gets sloppy during sparring." Brandon punched his arm and everyone laughed, all just ready to put this Earth escapade to rest. With the help of Nabu's portal they made their way to Tir Nan Og, and befell upon a horrifying scene. A massive vortex of black magic, caused by the wizards who were now maniacally laughing, was attempting to drag every fairy to an unknowable fate, and the Winx were trying their best to pull them all out. The specialists were shocked, terrified at the power these wizards held.
"I don't understand; didn't they surrender?! This doesn't make sense!" Timmy exclaimed, trying in vain to come to a logical conclusion. Duman burst into demonic laughter, startling his escorts and making them all jump away from him.
"You mean you're really so stupid? We betrayed you gullible, pathetic worms. You didn't honestly think we'd bow to you, did you? And by the way Nabu," Duman continued, his cruel grin showing his horrifically sharp teeth. "Thank you for returning me to health, I couldn't have done it better myself!" He laughed once again and then flew off to join his fellow wizards, leaving the angered specialists in his dust.
"Welcome back, Duman. We were worried about you, you almost missed our victory! Are you feeling any better?" Anagan asked, his brotherly nature shining through his cold exterior.
"Please, I wouldn't miss this for the world! And I'm feeling much better, thanks for your concern," Duman replied.
"Now, tell me. Was it embarrassing being saved by a little brat of a magician?" Gantlos spat the last word like poison.
"Yes, but I'd rather be saved by a brat than killed by a head cold," he replied to the older wizard. "Besides, the kid may have lame attacks, but he's quite the powerful healer." Gantlos shrugged his shoulders and let the matter be. Ogron smirked and rolled his eyes.
"Unlikely, but whatever. Now let's go; we need to pay a visit to our favorite earth fairy," he said with a slight cackle as he began to fly. The others joined him, only to me stalled by the Winx.
"Not a chance, you creeps!" Stella yelled. "We won't let you anywhere near her!"
"That's right, if you want Roxy, you have to go through us," Bloom said. Ogron thought for a minute and then finally spoke up.
"So I guess you don't care about all of the fairies? Cruel, not even thinking about you own race, I'm surprised at you girls," he said in mock disappointment.
"What are you talking about," Flora was obviously angry and her voice showed it. Instead of being calm and reassuring, it was low, growly and seething with venom. The other wizards caught on to Ogron's thoughts and smirked at each other, deciding to chime in.
"Well, the way we see it," Duman began. "You have two choices."
"You either fight us, or save the poor little fairies," Gantlos said with false pity.
"Choose wisely," Anagan said. "Your decision doesn't matter to us, but remember that you hold their lives in your hands," gesturing towards the panicked fairies. The Winx growled at the wizards and raced to help the fairies, leaving the cackling sorcerers a clear path to their prize.
"The last Earth fairy," Ogron said to Roxy, who was holding Morgana in her arms and trying to soothe her. "This all started with you, and now it will end with you." She was startled and began backing up. She had no idea what to do. Even in their weakened state, they were much more powerful than her.
"Wrong, Ogron," Nabu's voice was calm but loud as he descended upon the Wizards. "It ends with you." The Specialists all ran up behind him and readied their weapons. Ogron smirked while the other wizards growled.
"How will you end us if you can't find us?" In a cloud of black smog the wizards disappeared, leaving the livid boys behind.
A chasm in their path snapped the four wizards back to reality. They made quick work of jumping over, though Anagan almost fell into the darkness below. It became apparent that the magician Nabu had closed the portal to Oblivion, suffering great pain in doing so. Much to their dismay, he was healed by Bloom. The Winx, Roxy, the Specialists and every Earth Fairy went to the Omega Dimension, hungry for sweet revenge against the sorcerers that betrayed them all.
"When I get my hands on them I'm gonna rip them to shreds!" Aisha roared. "They led us on, promised us that they had repented, let us suffer for them, and they repay us by trying to send us to Oblivion and nearly killing Nabu! I'm gonna kill them…"
"Calm down, Child." Nebula was equally infuriated, but she knew losing their heads wouldn't help. "We will get our vengeance soon enough, I assure you."
"Vengeance," growled the Earth Fairies. They were enraged. Little did they know they would settle the score sooner than expected. The escapees were just a short way up the path, feet firmly on the other side of the gorge and continuing to sprint forward. Gantlos busted a hole through the wall where the path stopped.
"There we—oh, no…" What he found was a cold and dank room with walls as thick as Earth's crust, no other way out. They were quite literally stuck between a rock and a hard place. They could go back and try to fight, or hide and ambush their pursuers. They all ducked behind the ice pillars when they heard the small and mighty voice of a fairy.
"They went through here," one girl told the group. "They have no way out besides this hole. We'll get them, I know it," she said with an evil grin on her sweet face.
"Excellent work, Marili. Jede and Abira, watch they exit so they don't escape."
"Yes, Nebula!"
"Everyone else, start looking. Alert the rest of us if the traitors are located." Nebula sounded official and ticked. No one, not even the Winx, dared to oppose her.
"Right," and with that, they all fanned out. They looked high and low, behind ice flows, in the shadows, but no one could find them.
"No sign of them, not even footprints! Maybe they found an escape route," Tecna said, eager to catch them.
"I don't think so… this place is completely solid," Musa stated. "Alright, everyone be quiet; I should be able to hear them if they're around." An eerie hush fell over the group. They all held their breath, waiting for Musa's expertly tuned ear to pick up where their prey may be. She concentrated on every noise she picked up—the ice crackling, the rock settling- and her labor paid off. Within a few seconds she found them, and she snapped her head to her right, the farthest point away from the door. "Over there! Behind the pillars!" She raced over alongside her allies, more than ready to kill the despicable monsters. The wizards flew out from their hiding places, determined not to become minced meat at the hands of oversized insects.
"You fairies think you're so smart, huh?" Duman challenged. "Pathetic! Try, just try and beat us!" The other wizards were always prepared for their hot-headed friend to get them into a fight, and they readied their magic and their minds. They emitted a blackish-purple glow as they split up. Ogron easily evaded the Winx, Gantlos fought against the Specialists, and Duman and Anagan tag-teamed the Earth fairies and Roxy. As the specialists charged Gantlos, he slammed his hands together, sending the stunned boys into the wall at the other end of the room. He then joined Anagan and Duman, leaving Ogron to his fun with the Winx. Anagan disoriented them and got them closer together by running around them in circles at light speed. The floor his feet shot along caught fire, and he flew back up to his friends. With a convergence, they chained their defeated enemies to the cave walls. At last, they joined Ogron to speed the fight along and secure their victory. Flora was immediately worried about her fallen allies, flying over to check on them. In any other case this foolish act would have sealed her fate. In any other case.
"Hey, are you guys okay?" she asked, the sorrow and worry clear in her eyes. The wizards saw that she was distracted, and took this opportunity to take her out.
"We're all fine, a little scratched up, but—no, Flora, look out!" Helia saw the incoming attackers and warned Flora.
"Helia, what's wrong?" She asked, confused and turning around. The sight she saw terrified her, the wizards charging at her as fast as they could with the Winx scrambling to catch them. She didn't have time to think. She needed to ACT. Summoning every ounce of magic she had, more than she'd ever mustered, she roared the name of her final attack. "Return… To… NATURE!" All of her stored up magic shot out of her hands, on a direct path towards her attackers. She hoped to destroy them, but the nature of her attack did something no one ever would have guessed. The wizards immediately understood what was happening, even though she didn't, and their skin grew even paler than their normal tones as their eyes went wide. They tried to escape the magic, but her spell was too fast. It seized them in its grasp, and they all wailed in agony as their bodies were enveloped in white glitter. The impact shattered the chains, and everyone stared in amazement at the scene before them. The forms of the wizards descended and gently lay on the cave floor in the middle of the leftover smoke. Their satisfied faces turned to slight confusion as they sensed something strange emitting from them.
"What is this?" Nebula spoke slowly, not understanding what was happening. They felt a light yet mischievous energy drifting away from them. Nothing, not even the most powerful of beings and spells, could alter magic trails. What was this power?
"Let's get rid of some of this smoke," Tecna said. She turned her back to them and looked over her shoulder, rapidly flapping her wings to clear out the white gas. "That's better…" she trailed off as everyone gasped.
"No," Morgana said, her eyes wide with fear and astonishment. "It… it can't be! This is impossible!" There sat four bodies in front of them, that's for sure, but they weren't the same. They were no longer the bodies and faces of the wizards they loathed. Laying before them, no older than the Winx, were the bodies of four teenage boys.
