Chapter 1 how it happened

The year is 3043. Approximately twelve years after the fall of the UNSC. After the covenant war, the UNSC collapsed in on itself as it lacked the resources to have a peace time government, from over spenditure during the war. In a way the program that made Earth's greatest hero's was part of the cause. The last run of the program, the Spartan III program, drained the last of UNSC money. It created approximately 40 Spartans who would never meet alien forces in combat, for it was completed as the war ended. These "Unused Endgame tools" as they came to be known, were fought for as government collapsed and militias rose to take control. These last Spartans were divided up by the fighting factions and used in the great Control wars. At the end of these wars only eleven Spartans remained, and ten of these were the now elite troops of the Black Wolf Faction. The other Spartan had run well before the war started and disappeared. It is said he didn't want to fight, despite his role as the, would be leader of the third group of the legendary Spartans. Note here, that is complete bunk. He simply felt it wrong that human's should fight other humans instead of finding new life and fighting them.

But that is something to be learned in history class. This particular story is not one you read in a textbook. This story is of a man, who was hunted, betrayed, and killed. You might think this was a tragedy, and in some respects you might be right. The man spoken of here is one John Clouse, a.k.a Spartan 247 J, the missing Spartan. Who am I? Well for now I'm just the narrator, but if you must know my name is Linda Alkan.
