I am running,
Running away from You
For I don't want to face the pain that I
Have caused You Why do You persist on running after me
When I have sinned against You? I run faster and faster trying to get away You scream my name over and over but I pretend not to hear.
Tears running down my face as I run but I am stopped by a dead end. I run into that dead end and I fall and my eyes are blurry but I see Your figure.
I can barely stand but I scream at You, "Stay away, stay away, Lord for I have sinned against You."
"Did You not see what I have done to You?"
I try to back away but You come closer. I scream at You again,
"Lord, please stay away from me I am not worthy of You!" You come closer still.
You seem deaf to my screams. You are looking past my screams and You see my heart.
You run over to me and hold me
but I try to push You away.
My kicking and screaming are just getting me more upset so You quiet me with two simple words: "Be Still".
Just like that my body involuntarily stops moving and I automatically stop crying. As You are wiping my tears away, I quietly whisper
"Lord, please leave me here, I am not worthy of You."
"No, I am not going to leave you here, I paid too much of a price for you,
you are Mine.
Did you really think that I did not want to be bothered by you? It hurts Me to see you run from Me."
I try to look away but You lift my chin with Your hand. "I love you." I silently gasp because I forgot the most basic thing about You: love. "Everything that I have done for you has been out of love." "But Lord look at what I have done to Y-,
You interrupt me by saying, "Look at My hands" As I look down I notice the nail scars. "This was out of love for you,
My love is stronger than your sin that does not mean that you can sin and not be chastised any good parent will chastise their child for doing something wrong. You must learn from your sin."
"Rely on My strength to keep you out of sin." As I look up to You, I see Your eyes full of forgiveness and love.
"Lord, I am sorry for running away and for sinning, please forgive me" "I already have", says the Lord. You kiss me on my cheek and whisper in my ear, "You are My child, I will never leave you, Do not ever forget that."
