Y'all wanted a follow-up story to "Devil's Rant", well here it is. Enjoy and as usual, reviews make me smile, and flames make me frown!
"Oh, my Father, I can't believe it went viral," Lucifer muttered under his breath. "What has gone viral?" Chloe asked as she looked up from her case files in Lucifer's study. The detective was solving a complicated case with Lucifer and decided to take work home with her. "The video of my rant," Lucifer said. "The humans are going crazy over it." The King of Hell then saw a notification saying that someone has commented on his video. Lucifer clicked on it, and his eyes started blazing red as he read the comment over and over.
"How dare this miscreant say that I'm a loon?! Of course, I exist! I'm right here!" Lucifer seethed. "These humans think I'm some method actor gone mad! They don't believe me!" The former Prince of Darkness exclaimed. "Well, guess not every human being out there believe in the Devil," Chloe said. Lucifer then put his face in his hands as his anger began to fade.
"How else am I supposed to make these humans believe that I am who I say I am?" Chloe stopped what she was doing, got up from her chair and walked over to Lucifer. The homicide detective put her arms around her boyfriend's neck and said, "Maybe it's for the best. Humans aren't supposed to know that celestial beings like you exist."
The Lord of Hell turned and looked at his beloved Chloe with a perfectly raised eyebrow and said, "Have you been talking with Amenadiel? Did he brainwash you or something?" Chloe sighed, "No, I haven't spoken to your brother and no, he did not brainwash me." The detective replied. "I just want to maintain a sense of mystery as to your real identity that's all. I don't want people freaking out that the Devil is on Earth and is living in Los Angeles running a fancy nightclub."
Lucifer heaved a sigh of his own and turned his attention back to the laptop sitting on his coffee table. The King of Hell then closed the laptop and leaned back in his seat, his hands touching at the fingertips. "I suppose you're right, Chloe. Perhaps it is best that the humans don't know that the Devil walks among them. I believe that you were quite frightened when I showed you my true visage for the first time." Lucifer lamented as he remembered that day when he finally showed his detective who he was. Chloe nodded and returned to her case files. Maybe I should convince Lucifer to take the video down because what happens in real life stays on YouTube. The detective thought as she flipped through the pages in the files.
