The slight breeze blew Castiel's trench coat to the right just a bit and the staring contest between him and the three angels in front of him continued.
"What do you want?" Cas asked them.
"We want Dean Winchester under our protection. You know that there are more demons out of Hell now and they are all after him. He would benefit from our security."
"I can protect him."
"Not nearly as well as we can. Castiel, we understand that you are an exemplary angel but there is only so much one angel can do."
"You're not taking him." Cas said. The female angel sighed.
"Castiel, get off your high horse and hand him over."
"Madeline, stop." One of the other angels warned.
"But Zachariah! This is our job!"
"Unless you want to end up dead I would shut up." The last one, Joseph, said. Castiel watched them with unwavering eyes and they all looked back at him.
"Brother, be sensible. We know you want the protection of the human and we can guarantee that. We know he was your assignment and we respect that but let us at least help you." Joseph tried to reason.
"The more people there are near him the more of a chance there is that one of them will betray him. I cannot risk that."
"You've already betrayed him Castiel, by letting the Leviathans out." Madeline snapped.
"Madeline! I said stop!" Zachariah shouted.
"Shit…" Joseph trailed off as Castiel dragged two daggers from beneath his coat.
"Castiel! NO!" Zachariah yelled. He was one of the highest angels in Heaven so he was used to his commands being obeyed but he knew that Castiel had the power to be stronger than even him, an Archangel. Castiel lunged and stabbed Joseph in the neck with his left dagger and the chest with his right. He pulled them out and then turned to Zachariah. The Archangel clapped his hands once and lightning struck Castiel. The angel kept walking. The Archangel's eyes widened and he stumbled back.
"Th-that's impossible! I'm an ARCHANGEL!" Zachariah said.
"And I'm pissed." Castiel growled in response. Madeline tried to stop him and he sliced her stomach open with minimal effort. Zachariah sank to his knees, accepting his fate.
"Castiel… just tell me one thing... please."
"What is it?"
"Why do you want that human with you so badly?"
"Because I love him." Castiel said and the shock on Zachariah's face barely had time to register before he had a dagger sticking out of either eye. Castiel looked around to make sure everyone was dead before putting the daggers back in his coat and teleporting back to the motel Sam and Dean were still at.
"What took so long?" Sam asked, barely looking up from his laptop. "I thought you were just talking to some angels. Dean nearly left to go find you."
"Sorry. It took longer than expected due to their utter lack in professionalism and sheer stupidity. But I'm back now." Dean glared at him and then back at the TV. "Are you angry Dean?"
"No, he was just really worried for you." Sam said. Castiel smiled at that.
