The following one-shot is based on a funny alternate ending to The Jungle Book (1967) a friend and I had in mind back in Elementary School. Please enjoy reading it, and review afterwards.
"He's hooked," said Baloo as he watched Mowgli disappear upon entering the Man Village.
"Ah, it was inevitable, Baloo," explained Bagheera. "The boy couldn't help himself. It was bound to happen. Mowgli is where he belongs now."
"Yeah," said Baloo. "I guess you're right. But I still think he'd have made one swell bear."
At that moment, second thoughts entered Baloo's head.
"Oh what am I saying!?" he said. "He will make one swell bear!"
"What!?" said Bagheera in disbelief.
"Hang on there Mowgli!" Baloo cried. "I'll get you out of there!"
After saying that, Baloo gathered up a lot of vines and tied them to form a lasso. Unfortunately, Bagheera's tail got tied with them as well.
"Baloo?" Bagheera said.
"Not now Baghee!" Baloo said. "I'm saving my bear cub!"
"But, Baloo!" yelled Bagheera. "You don't understand!"
"It's about stayin' focused on your goal!"
"Baloo!" begged Bagheera. "Don't do it!"
But, it was too late. Baloo threw the lasso.
"BALOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" yelled Bagheera, as he was thrown towards the Man Village.
After thorowing the lasso, Baloo heard a thud.
"I think I got him!" he said happily.
As he reeled in the vine rope, he saw that he really caught a wagon full of fruit with Bagheera in it. He was not very happy.
"Did you get him Bahgee?" Baloo asked.
"No," said Bagheera. "But I got their entire food supply!"
"Ah!" a woman screamed. "That bear and that panther have stolen all our fruit!"
"Let's stop them before they get away!" yelled a man.
Soon, an angry mob ran out of the Man Village, and started chasing the two jungle animals
"Baloo!" said Bagheera sternly. "What were you thinking!?"
"I don't know, Baghee." said Baloo. "But one thing's for sure. Let's get out of hear!"
And so they ran into the sunset with the angry mob on their tails.
THE END
Thank you for reading. By the way, guess which Disney movie one of Baloo's lines came from.
