"Kura!" Nika shouted. She was running through the burning ruins of her town, yelling for her.
"Ohgodohgodohgod, the world is burning!"
The thoughts running through her head no longer made any sense, but that was ok, all Nika needed to do was run. Because if she never saw her again before she died, Nika didn't know what to do. The tears in her eyes didn't matter, the burns on her arms and legs didn't matter, the falling bombs didn't matter, the only thing that mattered was Kura. As she passed the people screaming, and the collapsing buildings, her determination only increased.
What if she's already left? What if she rejects your letter? What if you die before you get there?
The nagging voices never stopped. Nika's long blue-grey pigtails were singed, and her eyes were red from crying, but she was almost there! It was only about a block until she reached the home of one Otojun Kura!
It was so close she could almost taste it.
"Kura! Where are you?" Nika called out into the house. Barging into Kura's room, she was greeted with the sight of the girl's large pink eyes staring in fear at the intruder, promptly replaced with relief at the sight of her friend.
"Umm," Now that Nika had the time to say something, her mouth had gone dry.
"I.. I wanted to say that, erm, I love you, and I wanted to find out before, y'know. The end."
