Snowflakes was a yellow pegasus. She had red hair with blue highlights. The tips of her hair were stone. No one knew how it happened, not even her. Ponies would ask her about it and all she could do was shrug. She had no answer. She probably never will. Maybe.
Rainbow Dash, as a Wonderbolt hardly had any time for her friends, including Snowflakes. So Snowflakes usually flew alone (except for the occasional Derpy,) and she was okay with it, most of the time. One particular day Snowflakes was starting to come in for a landing when she noticed the cloud she was about to land on was pink. Stopping, she levitated there wondering "Is this a prank? No! There's got to be a way to figure this out!" Landing on it, she noticed it was awfully sticky. Bending down she licked it, "Yuck, cotton candy!" she exclaimed. She had hated cotton candy from the day she first tasted it. She tried to move her hooves but they were stuck. Groaning, she gave up trying to fly away. She did nothing but lie on the cloud staring into the sun. Suddenly she remembered what had happened the last time there were cotton candy clouds. "Discord!" she marveled. She had been reading about him and was utterly fascinated by him. She would watch him in his room sometimes and jot down everything he did. She hoped he wouldn't slip up again and get turned back to stone.
"Well, it sure looks like he's gonna get it."
Meanwhile, Twilight and Pinkie Pie were having tea at Sugarcube Corner. Pinkie was taking out the garbage when she saw the pink cloud. Screaming, she ran back into the shop.
"Twilight, Twilight!"
"What is it, Pinkie?"
"Discord has betrayed us!"
"What?"
"Come, come look outside!"
Twilight hurried out the back door and looked up. Sure enough there was a pink cloud looming over the sky.
"Oh no."
Discord was in his quarters laughing and rolling on the floor. He had a magic pocket mirror that showed him what was going on in somepony's life.
"They truly think I'm gonna try to take over Equestria again! Ha, as if! I would just be turned back to my cold stone prison."
He stopped laughing and shuttered.
"What a lonely place that was."
He shook his head trying to snap out of it.
"Now that I'm out I'm not lonely! I have friends now! I shouldn't be lonely, and I'm not!"
He sighed and sat on his bed.
"Who am I kidding? I'm still lonely."
Twilight regrouped the Elements of Harmony and had them meet in the Canterlot Gardens.
"Okay girls, are you ready?"
"Ready!" All the girls chimed.
Except Fluttershy who cowered with a small,
"Sort of."
Twilight ignored her and went right on,
"Okay good, let's go!"
Off they marched towards Discord's quarters to try to turn him back to stone.
