A/N: Well, I just got the Ninja Tribunal DVD and this popped into my head as I was watching it (probably because it's always bothered me that they never explained why Leo never got a weapon from the Forge) and it fit really well with the prompt. For those of you who aren't aware, this takes place during the episode "More Worlds than One." Sorry it's so short, but please review it if you like it!
Disclaimer: I own nothing more than way too many plot bunnies
Prompt: 18, Frustration
"Leonardo holds much strength within him yet he cannot see it. It is for this reason we are so hard on him. We have blocked his concentration solely to test his true power. We have slighted him to test the limits of his endurance. We have even denied him his rightful weapon, for the Fire of the Dragon King must gain its strength from its wielder, unlike the other Teeth of the Dragon which bestowed power upon the other kame. We sense, though, that he is becoming increasingly frustrated with his perceived failures, yet he does not realize that he is becoming stronger. Like metal forged in the hottest of furnaces, he is being tempered into the finest of weapons; his frustration is his fire and we, the Tribunal, are the hammer that must finely tone the edges."
"Even so, if the hand that wields the hammer strikes too hard, the weapon will snap and break as easily as a branch may during a strong wind. Likewise, the fire that tempers the metal must not be too hot or it will melt the steel, rendering it useless. We cannot allow Leonardo's frustration to destroy him before he realizes his destiny. Therefore, Young One, we send you to assuage his dissatisfaction with himself. Go."
"I understand, masters." The Ancient One bowed deeply before turning and leaving the sanctuary.
