Title: Collecting pieces

Summary: Back in Nihon, she comforted me when I had a hard time, when I was scared I had lost him. Now it is my turn to comfort his princess. FaiTomo friendship.

Disclaimer: Even I wanted, I couldn't own Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle -it belongs to CLAMP. I'm just writing fan fiction about it.

Author's note: I was looking through my written fan fictions which were finished and noticed for my surprise I never had posted this. I remember writing this drabble back then when Tsubasa was still going on...but this can still be read after finishing it. I'm curious, what you think happened in this fic, this scene happened? Anyway, thank you Jesica for betaing this.

Collecting pieces

She was circling here, walking there, touching that. The princess of Nihon seemed…restless, which certainly wasn't like her.

"Um, Tomoyo-san…" The blond man started quietly, not wanting to alarm her. She seemed so lost in her thoughts as she rushed around his room.

He had said his words gently, but the care he took in trying not to startle her failed badly when Tomoyo turned quickly towards him, breaking a vase as she did so. There was a small crash as it hit the floor.

"Ah! Sorry!" The princess said as she started picking up the pieces. Fai looked with more concern at the princess of Nihon.

"Tomoyo-san, is everything okay?" Fai asked gently, leaning towards her.

The princess unexpectedly stopped collecting the pieces and her face wrinkled from the sadness that suddenly appeared. The blond magician looked at the small woman next to him in shock, but she slowly nodded her head. Tomoyo then started collecting the small pieces again, but stopped when Fai softly took her hand into his. Smiling a comforting smile, he nodded his head the princess' way, and her eyes grew big in surprise.

There was a small moment where she tried to fight against her feelings, ones she usually blocked so well, but it failed. Her beautiful face turned into a mask of sorrow and tears started to fall from her shining eyes. Fai's eyes widened at the sudden turn, but he quickly fixed his face and pulled Tomoyo into a tight hug.

"I miss him so much!" Tomoyo sobbed against Fai's chest.

The magician stroked her smooth hair and let his chin lean against Tomoyo's head. It was something fully new and weird for him; to comfort the princess of Nihon, who always seemed so calm. The blond man had some experience from that time when he had comforted princess Sakura, but this was something new. The magician had almost been sure; he would have been the first to break up crying, not her. How the roles had changed from that time when he had first visited Nihon country was somewhat funny yet so melancholically ironic.

The blond man pulled the purple haired woman away from him a little so he could see her face. Tomoyo's face was now a mess; there were red circles around her purple eyes, her nose was bleeding a little bit and her lower lip was trembling badly. Not something you could have wanted from the finest princess ever.

Quietly, Fai lifted his hand and softly stroked her wet cheek. The magician put a small smile on his lips, nodding his head both to Tomoyo and himself, before he spoke in a soothing voice.

"He will be all right."
