Disclaimer: Y'all know the deal. I don't own Avatar. Don't sue me, okay?
I decided to start a drabble series. Mainly because I start stories and then never finish them. I have no idea what's wrong with me, but it's a really bad habit that I need to get out of. But, until I can grow out of it, I figured it would be a terrible waste to just ignore the endless stories I've started and then just… forgotten about. So here this is.
This story was originally going to be set in the Fire Nation while the gang was undercover. But, as you probably know by now, I never finished it. Who knows, I may get around to doing something with it later, but I'm not going to promise anything.
Undercover
Toph hung her head, and heaved a great sigh. Leaning back against the nearest wall, she drummed her fingers aimlessly against the blistering metal. At the current moment in time, she was mulling over the situation and her choices. So far, everything that she had come up with, concluded with her making a run for it.
"Well?"
Perking her head up at the Watertribe warrior's voice, she snapped back, "No, I do not agree."
He chuckled darkly, then muttered something under his breath- something she didn't quite catch. "If you have something to say, I wish you'd just say it."
Sokka shifted his weight, so he too could lean against the rusting wall, and spoke, "Look, you don't have much choice. If we're going to stay unnoticed, I think it would be best that no one know you're a blind girl who can see."
There was no way around it, she knew it just as well as he did. But maybe there was still time and she could still get away if she acted fast enough...
"Fine. But only in public", she spat through her teeth. This was all she would ever allow. He nodded his agreement.
Sokka grinned, only for a moment, then pressed his lips into a firm line. He held is arm out to his blind friend, barely suppressing a chuckle in the process. She grabbed at him roughly in response; sliding her small arm through his.
With a small blush visible upon her cheeks, Toph grumbled, "Just so you know, I am not enjoying this."
A/N:
Hehe, couldn't help implying some Tokka.
