Mikasa twirled around on a heeled boot, so that the frills on her dress swirled elegantly like her sable hair. Finally the oriental girl settled on the wooden boards, her cheeks flushed.
"Whoa!" the two boys before her sighed in awe. "You really look good in red!" Armin complimented. Mikasa peered down at the long fabric. "Ah. It was from Sasha." she said quietly. The dress was a long sleeved v-neck, and crimson turned out to be just her color for the occasion. She took a gander at her cronies and gawked at them. "Look at you two! I think we're all a bit overdressed!" she laughed.
"What..?" Eren skimmed his own attire for the event, and then exchanged glances with the blond beside him. They were wearing the same suits, except one was green and the other blue. Their hair was slicked back for once, which was a new look for either boys. "You think so?" the shorter boy said as he attempted to fix his uneven tie.
"I've got this!" Eren muttered and took hold of the latter's collar. A smile played on the girls' lips as she watched them. "Let's go."
Snow drifted from the white sky gently, all the districts were veiled in white by now. The trio rode their horses from the inn, behind one another through the empty streets. "Everyone in Hermina has already cleared out." Armin said to no one in particular as he looked around at the closed vendors.
They unmounted before the tidy stone fortress. "Headquarters!" the brunet asserted, a grin plastered on his face. The three crept around the perimeter to the egress, and sure enough the rest of the regiment were awaiting them. "See? I told you they'd make it." Ymir uttered down to a shivering Christa.
"Better late than never." Jean snickered and adorned a fedora over his head.
"The townspeople are ready?" Commander Erwin asked as he pinched on gloves.
"We think so."
Eren turned to the door in front of them and gulped. "Okay..Let's hope he allows it or this was all for nothing..." The gate opened finally, and the group hemmed in excitedly. Corporal Levi stood at the doorway in a thick coat and muffler, a stupefied look on his face. "Oi." he spouted flatly.
"Happy birthday!" The Recon Corps shouted in harmony.
"Meri Kurisumasu!" Mikasa added triumphantly.
"New Year's Day, too!" Connie and Sasha nodded their heads vigorously.
Corporal gave them all an astonished stare.
"Levi-Heichou," Eren began nervously,"We wanted to celebrate your birthday outside."
"...Outside?" Corporal asked dubiously.
Armin held his breath back so loudly Eren nearly choked in laughter. Christa stammered,"Y-yeah! Thanks to you humankind won its territory back, and we've never seen it in the snow before!"
Corporal mused on her for a moment, and then simpered. The soldiers barely held back their gasps of delight. "Okay then, let's go...what?"
