Every single time they are born into different bodies and have different names, but the thing that doesn't change is their love. It's the one thing in eight hundred years that has reminded untouched and strong.

Since magic began they had loved each other and it was that love which had cursed them to be reborn again and again. Every time finding each other just to lose them all over again.

Never remembering why they could only be together for a short time.

The first time they met and fell in love he in a mad moment of jealousy killed her. He hadn't meant to hurt her, but he had and afterwards for fifty years he travelled the world searching for a way to change what he had done.

Every country, town and village filling his heart with anguish when his search turned up nothing. Not finding what he needed until he arrived in a starving village in Russia and met her, so ancient and yet looked so young.

She knew his story without him telling him it and she promised that she could give him what he craved, to bring the love his life back to him again.

However, it came at a price and that price was to keep being reborn until he committed the very act that lead him around the world. He would have to kill her again or have her killed each time by someone's else's hand.

And one day if he remembers that what he needs to do to break the curse he still wouldn't do it.

It was better to live a life with a cursed love than to live a life without any love at all.

Even if meant being reborn until the world crumbled to dust and time broke. And the pain of losing her again shattering his heart it was worth it for all the moments he got to love her.

It was worth it to hear her laughter and see her stunning smile, to have her love him again and again.

Yet if he had asked her then he would have known that she was tired of being born again to meet a horrible fate. To keep being torn from him everything single time and deep down knowing that it will always end that way.

They were ghosts that should have faded long ago but he kept hanging on and trapped her with him.

To be born, to find each other and fall deeply in love, then for him to bury her and mourn her until he too died just to start it all over again.

She was tired of it all and he still wouldn't let go.

Sometimes it was for the best to let the one you loved go, but he couldn't and they were both cursed to suffer because of it.
