OOC: Hey everyone, this is my first published story on this site and I'd really like some feedback on it if you would :)
Basically this is a sort of cross over between the setting of the book "Looking For Alaska" (amazing book, I read it in seven hours) and my own original characters. I'm probably not going to use many of the characters from the book, but if I do I'll mention it up here.
I used Dr. Hyde in this scene, and he isn't my character so I'm not claiming anything to him. It's also not a place that I made up, so I'm also not claiming that I was the creative mind to create such a wonderful place and Culver Creek High :)
Enjoy!
Angel sits behind Raymond, who sits to the right of Christian who sits in front of Jonah. So, Angel sits next to Jonah. Not that Angel minded too much, it was Jonah that was counting to ten in his head over and over. He kept glancing over towards her, then back to Dr. Hyde, then to her, then to Hyde, keeping his eyes on the teacher for ten seconds before stealing a glance at the girl next to him.
Angel kept calm, silently purring satisfaction, and each time Jonah would look over to her, Angel would look away, catching his eyes. She was keeping time with him, and had been the one to start what she thought was a beautiful game. She kept one hand pressed between her legs, the other taking notes casually. Angel knew how to multi-task, and she knew well that Jonah couldn't. A perfect plan to come out on top, leader, really, of all of their classes.
Jonah let out a prolonged, deep sigh that resembled that of an irritated lion. He knew what she was doing, as she'd been doing it and things similar to distract him. This was a warning growl, he'd done it before, and he'd certainly had to carry through with the warning before.
Angel seemed to be fearless, however. She was determined to keep the two sentences of notes he had to two sentences, so when the next ten seconds rolled around, she stared straight ahead and continued to scribble notes down while pulling her left hand from her legs and tracing her delicate fingers across her leg, the infinity sign, his name, her name. She peeked back at Jonah, pleased to find his eyes on her hand, a face blank, trance-like.
He could feel her fingers as if they were tracing shapes on his own leg, the tantalizing tease of this new game was enough for him to have a completely different mindset, a smaller one.
"Mr. Isaac, do I need—" Hyde wheezed, coughed and sniffed. The gap between he and death were coming closer, that one lung was giving out on him and his heart wasn't doing much better. Hyde was still all the more indimidating, despite the continued fall of health, "—to send you out?" His threats had even become less creative, he no longer gave witty replies, Hyde just got straight to the point now.
"Uh—no, no sir, not at all." Jonah was shocked; Hyde had never threatened anything towards Jonah, he was one of the best in the class, besides Angel.
When Dr. Hyde went back to his lecture, Jonah shot Angel the death glare, and she knew something was coming.
Something… new?
